Do you remember when your sales teams’ cold calls and emails generated leads and NEW business? Wasn’t it awesome when your sales staff showed you a calendar full of in-person and online meetings? Didn’t you just love to attend trade shows and return with a fist full of leads, smiling like a Cheshire cat. Do you think of those as the good old days? I do sometimes. Those good old days were only 3 ½ years ago as I write this in July of 2023! The pandemic changed our world forever – enough said. If you started a business during the pandemic, you might be trying to get things going. So much of our lives went online, but now people are returning to in person events and buying in store – thankfully! If you find yourself longing for days of old, like 4 years ago, it is time for a new strategy to help your sales staff generate prospects and close sales. The way we do business is different now, it is more “virtual”. Thank goodness trade shows are coming back or we would all be racing to create our “avatars” and meet in a “sphere” somewhere. Thank goodness this is not reality yet. I enjoy human interactions. The one thing that has not changed is the need to advertise. Advertising is as old as the hills and its purpose has not changed in centuries. But how we advertise changes rapidly. If your business is not online, you will not be found and selling will be much harder. Organic reach is hard to come by these days; not impossible but it does require a ton more personal activity and time. It can be exhausting to create all that content. Going viral probably has similar odds as winning the lottery. There is an easier way to generate leads. Digital advertising is the best way to get in front of your ideal target customers quickly and inexpensively. It is so much easier to execute these days. Now is the time to finish 2023 strong.
