As the Founder of DRIVEN, Sheri leverages her 25 years of industry experience in tech to create a platform and community that connects motorsports and technology careers. DRIVEN's mission, as envisioned by Sheri, is to enable individuals to build impactful careers through comprehensive mentoring, targeted education, and active community involvement. The Back Story: With 23 years of experience as a UX product leader at Microsoft, Sheri has honed her research skills in shaping innovative products, fostering a customer-centric culture, and driving data-driven decision-making. Leading within an organization of Microsoft's size and scale she learned how to influence decision makers through organizational agility, executive communication, and cross-organizational influence. She has worked across diverse domains, including software, hardware, services, support, marketing, incubation, consumer packaging, and enhancing customer (CX) and employee experiences (EX). Sheri's deep expertise in research, data, and business insights led her to work primarily on first-version (V1) products, where she significantly influenced product strategy and business outcomes. In parallel, mentoring and coaching have been fundamental to Sheri's career, enabling her to guide hundreds on their career journeys. This has enriched her own path and solidified her commitment to nurturing talent. Now, Sheri extends this mentorship to motorsport, especially Formula 1, with a focus on current and aspiring engineers and business professionals. This venture is guided by the principles that have shaped her career at Microsoft: nurturing talent, championing diversity and inclusion, and serving as a role model, particularly for women and underrepresented minorities in STEM. Sheri's diverse experiences fuel her desire to bridge the worlds of technology and motorsports - the more she spends in F1, the more it is obvious how similar it is to Big Tech (from culture, product development, talent pipeline, DEI). These industries and the individuals working in them face similar challenges and have much to learn from each other, motivating Sheri's determination to bring these industries closer together through DRIVEN.
