My name is Sho Dewan, and I am a career coach, LinkedIn Top Voice: Job Search and Careers, and content creator. I haven’t always been in these shoes though. I kickstarted my career in corporate and had a lot of the same roles that I see my clients with today. I worked in consulting in Big 4, handled marketing campaigns in global tech firms, and got my first taste of people development, recruitment, and HR while working with Simon Sinek. But even when I had these fancy titles and big salaries, I wasn’t fulfilled. And after working with thousands of people, I realized that I wasn’t alone here.

Most career advice tells you to play it safe, find a stable career, and move up the corporate ladder.

I say: EFF THAT!

Never tell your manager this 😩

Because l’ve seen it happen too many times. You think you are doing them a favor because you are giving them an extended notice but.... it can bite you in the ass.

My rule for 99% of time is to follow your contract and give notice as they see fit (most places say 2 weeks) but if you dont wanna take that risk, I don’t blame you!
