↳ You’re gaining new skills, solving new problems, and thinking sharper.
↳ You’re not stuck,  you’re stacking experience that’ll pay off later.

✅ 2. The challenges energize you (not drain you)
↳ You feel proud of your work and talk about it with energy.
↳ Bad days happen but if the overall vibe fuels you, that’s a win.

✅ 3. You have room to think and make moves
↳ You’re not micromanaged or boxed in, you’ve got autonomy with clear goals.
↳ Freedom at work = belief in your potential. That’s a green flag.

✅ 4. Your feedback actually lands
↳ People ask for your opinion and actually consider it.
↳ If your voice is heard and valued, your presence matters.

✅ 5. You feel seen and appreciated
↳ Your boss thanks you, your team notices your effort, and you feel trusted.
↳ You’re more engaged when your work gets acknowledged. Keep showing up.

✅ 6. Your job supports your life not just your bills
↳ You’re not just surviving weekdays and living for weekends.
↳ Even if it’s not the “dream job”  it’s helping you build your dream life.


So if you’re not totally in love with your job right now… that’s okay.

Things you should QUIT BEFORE THE YEAR ENDS:

✅Quit that toxic job.
✅Quit that bad boss
✅Quit the habits holding you back.

You gotta know when it’s time to quit and when you deserve more!

Salary convos can be awkward AF.
Say the wrong thing... and *boom* your leverage’s gone.
BUT say it right and for sure, you’ll get that 💰

So here are 8 things NOT to say during salary negotiations (and what to say instead):

Don’t sound aggressive,  it can totally kill the vibe.
 ✅ Say this: “Thanks so much for the offer but we are a bit off here. I am excited about the opportunity and would love to see how we can make this a win-win.”

Don’t say you’re unsure of your range, know your worth.
✅ Say this: “Based on my research and background, I’m targeting $70–80K. Does that align with your budget?”

Don’t accept the offer before talking numbers.
✅ Say this: “I’m excited about the role and would love to review the full offer before finalizing.”

Don’t sound ungrateful. Gratitude + Clarity always wins.
✅ Say this: “I really appreciate the offer — thank you. Here’s the range I was hoping for based on my experience…”

Don’t rely too much on what the internet says.
✅ Say this: “Based on my research and comparable roles, I feel $X–Y range is fair given my background.”

Don’t justify with personal bills, show your business value instead.
 ✅ Say this: “Here’s the value I’ll bring to this role, can we align compensation accordingly?”

Don’t issue ultimatums, you need to keep it collaborative.
✅ Say this: “I’d love to make this work — is there flexibility in the offer or other areas we could adjust?”

Don’t anchor to your past salary. Always focus on today’s value.
✅ Say this: “I’d prefer to focus on the value I bring and what this role is worth in today’s market.”


These convos are never easy, but being prepared changes the game.

Happy Thanksgiving from Vietnam! 🇻🇳 

First time in a while to be away from home for Thanksgiving but nice to get some sun and rest with my wife (our one year anni too!)

I’m finding that as each year passes, I am finding myself to be “busier” and tbh I don’t think that’s a great thing.

Because I realize the busier I am, the less present and grateful I tend to be.

So I’m calling it out now to challenge myself to chill tf out more and count more blessings. 😇

Here are 7 of them I am thankful for in no particular order!

1. My team who make work fun and genuinely good people to be around 

2. Being remote (still the biggest thing most ppl want today in a job!)

3. Working on stuff that younger me would have been like whoa we get to do that! 🤯 

4. Friends and family that root for us and want us to win

5. My wife and all the goodness she brings to everyday life 

6. Vietnamese food — yeah pho is great but bun cha, banh mi, banh xeo, the list goes on!

7. Being able to move my body and being able to do this 🦵 pose

And of course these platforms like LinkedIn where we can connect with strangers on the internet over a photo. And cheer each other on!

So to less busy-ness and more gratitude. Happy Thanksgiving to you, my friend!

Some jobs will SUCK the life out of you!

And if you don’t leave sooner than later, you may never get that time and spark back.

Here are some signs you need to look out for so you know it’s time to bounce:

➞ You’ve been accepting less than you deserve
➞ You’re always too busy but not moving forward
➞ Your values don’t align with leadership or culture
➞ You feel anxious opening Slack (yep, that’s a red flag)
➞ You can’t separate work from your real life anymore

If more than 2 of these hit, it might not be “just a rough patch.”
‘Cus that job is draining you and it’s def not worth your peace.

REMEMBER:
📌 You’re allowed to want better.
📌 You don’t owe that job your health, happiness, or time.

Getting ghosted after interviews suck…

BUT what if you lost the job because of something super small you didn’t even realize existed?!

Imagine prepping like crazy and nailing every interview Q, but you get rejected just cause you didn't clear your coffee cup or picked up a pen? 😪

It's weird, but people really lose offers over things that have nothing to do with their resumes and experiences. 

Here are 5 (invisible tests) to look out for:

☕The Coffee Cup Test:
↳ They’re watching if you clean up after yourself.
↳ Pro tip: Ask “Where should I put this?” or take it to the kitchen.

✈️The Flight Test:
↳ Would they want to sit beside you for 10 hours on a flight?
↳ Be positive, self-aware, and easy to talk to.

🥪The Lunch Test:
↳ You’re not just “grabbing lunch”, you’re actually being evaluated.
↳ Be humble. Don’t flex. Respect everyone at the table.

❓The Weird Question Test:
↳ Q: “If you were a kitchen utensil…” (yeah, that one 😅)
↳ Stay calm. Tie your answer back to a soft skill.

🖊️The Pen Drop Test:
↳ They “accidentally” drop something to see if you help.
↳ Don’t overthink. Just pick it up.
