My professional journey has been diverse, rich and serendipitous. I have 18 years of combined experience across broadcast and print journalism, editorial leadership for entrepreneurship and business reportage, book writing, teaching, higher education administration and education entrepreneurship. The immersion into higher education has inspired a deep commitment to build and shape institutions that address India's massive education challenges. I first switched from business journalism to higher education, driven mainly by the opportunity to help build a management program for professional women. It was a great experience to impact the conversation on professional women. Over the past few years, I have also taught effective writing, business communication and critical thinking at several universities and programs across India. These opportunities gave me an immersive experience of how higher education can transform lives and aspirations, especially by innovating on curriculum. My drive to do this at scale powers my belief in the idea of online learning. I owe this constant expansion of ambitions to my journalism career, especially the last eight years in which I wrote on entrepreneurship. Being editor of the Indian edition of Inc., the iconic American magazine on entrepreneurship provided an invaluable ringside view to new business builders. These entrepreneurs have since served as inspiration to catalyse ideas into new realities.
