MD Anderson Cancer Center

At MD Anderson I have the benefit of having multiple roles because MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Graduate School of  Bio-medical Sciences are separate entities. At MD Anderson I am a Graduate Research Assistant, my main responsibilities included designing and conducting research on 'Cell Adhesion Mediated Drug Resistance in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia' under the leadership of my thesis adviser.
As a student in the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences I have served on several committees in my PhD Program - Experimental Therapeutics Academic Program (ETAP). I served as the Chair of the ETAP Student Research Retreat Committee 2014-2015 and my main responsibilities in this regard are organizing the annual Student Research Retreat. In the previous years, I have served as the Chair (2013-2014), Vice-Chair (2012-2013) and Member (2011-2012) of the ETAP Newsletter Committee. My main responsibilities included compiling and Publishing the Annual ETAP Newsletter.

Graduate Research Assistant

I volunteered at the Patient Family Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center - a place for the patients and their family members to find resources for what they need and to access the internet and print/fax anything.
