𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺? 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙣. I used to believe that swapping out the tool was the fastest path to better results. But here’s what I’ve learned the hard way: The real transformation doesn’t start with software. It starts with people and process. You can plug in the best system on the market, but if your workflows are broken or your team isn’t aligned, the problems will follow you. When I finally paused to map out how our teams actually worked—where the handoffs were failing, where confusion crept in—that’s when everything started to click. Changing the system helped, but understanding the people and process changed everything. If you’re about to make a switch, take a breath and step back first. What you find might surprise you—and save you months of frustration. What’s your biggest lesson when implementing a new system? Let’s discuss.
𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀? Unlocking the full potential of your existing tools might be the gamechanger you’ve been missing. For a long time, I thought the solution was more—more apps, more dashboards, more tools. But I had it backward. Ever feel like your latest tech gadget is just a paperweight? That’s how many treat project management tools—investing in platforms like Procore, eBuilder, or SAP, then reverting to spreadsheets and sticky notes. The irony? With all our tech, many still operate in the digital Stone Age. So why do we invest in systems only to ignore them? Are we overwhelmed by complexity? Or stuck in our routines? Here’s the shift: Your tools might already hold the answers. You just need to unlock them. Imagine: Effortless data flow Fast, data-driven decisions No more bottlenecks Empowered, aligned teams It’s not about new tools—it’s about mastering what we already have. Let’s move from digital hoarders to strategic operators. What’s stopping you from unleashing your tools’ full potential?
𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗷𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀. In capital projects, balance is everything. But how often do we ignore alignment and hope for the best? Here’s the truth. If your scope, budget, and forecast aren’t aligned early, problems follow. Scope creeps. Budgets surprise us. Forecasts miss the mark. Early alignment prevents chaos. Adjust as you go—great project managers recover quickly. It’s not about all the answers. It’s about asking the right questions. How do you keep your projects aligned? I’d love to hear what you think.
Imagine if your Capital Project's engine could speak. Operational data is like that voice. It reveals what's working and what needs attention. Yet, many ignore it like an old manual until issues arise. But what if it's more than just a tool for today? Operational data is a strategic ally for tomorrow. It's your crystal ball into the future. Not just monitoring, but anticipating. It doesn't just show where you are—it forecasts where you could be. Operational data is the unsung hero. When used right, it predicts the future, not just reports the past. In our fast-paced world, isn't that the game to win? What if we treated operational data as the strategic fuel it is? How are you using your operational data to fuel your future?
Capital Project budget gaps are like the dreaded potholes on the road to project success. They’re unexpected, a bit annoying, and can throw you off course. A major University faced such a challenge with SAP and PMIS, but here’s where it gets interesting. Instead of just filling the gap, they decided to build a bridge. Here’s the twist: they didn’t use more money; they used more brainpower. They asked themselves, what if the solution isn’t about finding more resources, but about utilizing the existing ones better? In a world that constantly screams for more, the team whispered ‘better’. They questioned: → Can crossdepartmental collaboration reduce duplication? → Are we maximizing the tools we already have? → Does every process need a new system, or can we integrate the current ones more effectively? Their approach was not just about solving the immediate problem but rethinking the entire strategy. It’s like realizing that the secret to a great recipe isn’t always new ingredients, but how you use what’s already in your pantry. Let’s pose a question: Are our solutions more about adding or improving? This University taught us that sometimes, the best way to fill a gap is not with more, but with better. What do you think? Is it time we all start whispering ‘better’ instead of shouting ‘more’? I’d love to hear what you think. To learn more or connect with us, click here https://lnkd.in/ekVgkgxH
Ever heard We’ve always done it this way? That's a red flag in your capital program. These words signal complacency and inefficiency. Innovation thrives on questioning the norm. Imagine if tradition silenced every groundbreaking idea. Would we still be writing by candlelight? Challenge the status quo: → Reduce costs → Improve efficiency → Boost project success The costliest habits are unexamined. Next time, ask: Are you preserving value or padding budgets with outdated methods? Your thoughts? What revolutionary change have you seen when tradition was challenged? I’d love to hear what you think. To learn more or connect with us, click here https://lnkd.in/ekVgkgxH
𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗸 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁—𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮. For too long, it’s been treated as a finance-only concern. But the truth is, cash flow touches every part of a project, and every member of the team. When we limit the conversation to spreadsheets, we miss the bigger picture. Here’s what I’ve seen: Cross-functional collaboration brings unexpected insights. Operations, project teams, and leadership each bring a different lens—and together, they uncover smarter solutions. It’s not just about dollars and cents. It’s about timing, trust, and transparency. It’s about the emotional impact of uncertainty—and how clear communication can build stability. Cash flow influences more than budgets. It shapes decision-making, culture, and even morale. It’s not just a metric—it’s a mirror. When managed collectively, it becomes a tool for alignment, resilience, and long-term success. So, how does your team approach cash flow? Is it a siloed task—or a shared conversation?
Why do we hold onto tools that hold us back? Construction trackers feel comfortable. But are they still the right fit? What if we moved beyond tracking? What if our tools became strategic investment platforms? Imagine this: Your tracker doesn’t just tell you where you are. It shows you where you could go, and helps you spot problems before they happen. Strategic platforms simplify, not complicate. They turn chaos into clarity. Are you ready to swap the old jeans for a better fit? Share your thoughts. I’d love to hear what you think.
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 “𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?" You're not alone. Here's a tip: get a "yes” from finance by crafting the right data story. Break it down: Start with context: → Finance loves numbers, but they crave context. → First, set the stage for why your project matters. Highlight the need: → Identify the problem. → Use clear, relatable examples. Present the solution: → Shine here. → Explain how your project solves the issue with data they get. Show the benefits: → Connect success to financial goals. → Use bullet points for clarity. Address the risks: → Acknowledge risks and discuss mitigation. Conclude with action: → End with a compelling reason to support your project. Numbers are powerful, but the story seals the deal. Next pitch, craft a narrative they can’t resist. Ready to test it? Share what works for you. What's your secret for that green light from finance?

Data silos. They’re everywhere. Like stubborn kids who won’t share. But what if they became our secret weapons? What if each silo was a command center, driving insights—not hoarding data? The irony: Isolated data limits us. Connected data empowers us. Why let silos dictate strategy? What are we afraid of? Each department holds puzzle pieces. Together, they reveal direction and clarity. Breaking silos could spark true innovation. Integrating data transforms guesswork into certainty. Are we ready to challenge the status quo? Or stay stuck, guessing? I’d love to hear what you think.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂? I used to think they were reliable—familiar, flexible, good enough. But then came the reality check. In just six weeks, I watched a team go from clunky chaos to sleek efficiency. No more tab overload. No more manual errors. No more second-guessing the numbers. They didn’t add more complexity. They replaced guesswork with precision. They made the shift from static spreadsheets to dynamic dashboards—and never looked back. Turns out, what we see as “good enough” might actually be holding us back. Once they made the switch, everything changed: Faster decisions. Cleaner data. Real confidence. The future of project management isn’t buried in tabs. It’s built on real-time, data-driven clarity. What would change for your team if you stopped depending on spreadsheets?
Ever tried getting a traditional tradesperson to embrace tech? It's like asking a cat to take a bath! The secret? It's all about speaking their language. Steps to win them over: Start with Why: Don't just hand them a tablet. Explain how tech boosts safety and efficiency. Show, Don’t Tell: A quick demo often says more than words. Seeing is believing! Train with Fun: Skip the boring sessions. Make training interactive and fun. A coffee break competition works wonders. Celebrate Wins: Did they log their first job on the app? Celebrate it! Recognition motivates. Feedback Loop: Listen and involve them. Show how their input leads to improvements. Remember, tech is an ally, not an enemy. It gets everyone home faster. Who doesn't want that? Had a breakthrough that changed your work? Share your story below! I’d love to hear what you think. To learn more or connect with us, click here https://lnkd.in/ekVgkgxH
𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙛𝙛 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨? I have—and I thought I was prepared. When I first rolled out new platforms, I was confident. The tools were solid. The logic made sense. Everything should have gone smoothly. But the team? They had other plans. What I saw as improvement, they saw as disruption. Long time And that’s when it hit me: It wasn’t about the technology. It was about trust, timing, and communication. Change isn’t just a technical rollout—it’s a cultural shift. And if you don’t bring people along, even the best tools fall flat. So we slowed down. We listened. We adapted the rollout to meet people where they were. And things started to click. That experience taught me that successful implementation starts with empathy, not installation. What’s something you’ve learned the hard way when introducing change? I’d love to hear your insights.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 (𝗣𝗠𝗜𝗦) 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹? It's not the tech—it's the people. Fancy software won't help if your team sticks to sticky notes. Most PMIS failures are change management failures. Think about it. We spend on tools but forget our most vital asset—our people. Here’s the breakdown: Resistance is real: People dread change more than Mondays. ↳ New systems mean new habits. Training matters: Software installation isn't the finish line. ↳ Invest in training like you do in coffee. Communication is key: Assume no one knows anything. ↳ Overcommunicate clear goals and benefits. Involve everyone early: From execs to the 'quiet ones.' ↳ Make them part of the journey. Celebrate small wins: Recognize milestones. ↳ It boosts morale. Remember: A tool is only as good as its users. Engage, train, support them. Your PMIS will not only survive but thrive. What's your biggest change management challenge? Share in the comments! I’d love to hear what you think. To learn more or connect with us, click here https://lnkd.in/ekVgkgxH
Why do some teams run like well-oiled machines while others falter? It's not just talent—it's systems. Rev up your team's engine with these strategies: Streamline Processes → Clear out workflow bottlenecks. Data Integration → Centralize your data for smarter, faster decisions. Technology Consulting → Embrace modern tools like eBuilder or Procore. Change Management → Train your team to adapt for long-term success. Your team is as strong as its systems. Upgrade those, and unlock new achievements. Ready to boost your team's performance? What's your go-to system upgrade? Share below! I’d love to hear what you think.

Just Returned from COAA Connect Spring 2025 in Pittsburgh — 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚'𝙨 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙊𝙪𝙩 Three days. Dozens of sessions. Hundreds of passionate Owners, builders, architects, and partners. And a straightforward truth stood out: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. This year at COAA, I had the chance to join conversations on: The reality of multi-prime delivery and how leaders like Cody Edgell ALCOSAN and his team overcame 𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙤𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩. Why spending isn’t about finance—it’s about discipline. Jimmy Patel said it best: If you can’t think deeply about how you’ll spend $100,000, how will you lead $500 million? The tough but necessary talks around design delegation, delivery risk, and what it means to be a “good Owner,” thanks to Jim Carroll, Dale Harvey, and Jack Stackalis. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘇𝘇𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱—𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. And the 𝙗𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 from the University of Oregon team that literally said, “We bought a campus—and yes, it might be a sh!t show!” They embraced transparency, kept their timeline, and got students back in classrooms. One of the most meaningful moments of the week was supporting 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙅𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝘽𝙤𝙭 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝘾𝙊𝘼𝘼 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙨. This initiative delivers joy to children in hospitals by giving them boxes filled with toys, games, and hope. OnIndus was honored to sponsor this effort, and we’re proud to give back to the communities that inspire us every day. At OnIndus, we help Owners make sense of the mess, bring consistency to capital planning, and build smarter delivery ecosystems. Grateful for the shared energy, honesty, and momentum. Let’s keep going. #COAAConnect2025 #OwnerLeadership #ProjectDelivery #ConstructionInnovation #CapitalProjects #OnIndusImpact
