Promoted to Procurement Manager in September 2009.

•Procurement lead for 6 projects at 3 sites across the South of England with an external spend up to £18M

•Successful sourcing, selection and negotiation of subcontracts with international suppliers up to £6M

•Reported directly to the Head of Naval Procurement

•Devised and implemented procurement strategies, wrote RFPs, ran competitive tenders, contribute to cash flow analysis, cultivate relationships and conduct supplier performance measurement and supplier relationship management.

Procurement Manager

First full time role on completion of the Graduate Scheme

Procurement lead for an export prospect. Guided requirements. Built procurement costs and effort estimates for the life of the project which were fed into the final proposal.

Analysed reduction of hazardous materials and obsolescence for an old radar platform which still needed to be supported. Devised a model taking these and other inputs to provide options for reducing turnaround times as part of a tight service level agreement contract.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
•Measured &amp; analysed resources, progress &amp; performance on two large projects (£100M and above). 
•Successfully delivered various internal projects to improve processes within BAE Systems. Included defining and guiding requirements, success criteria, project set up, assigning roles and responsibilities and managing the team.

COMMERCIAL
•Assisted with contracting &amp; operating models, defined teaming agreements &amp; risk &amp; reward on a multi company prospect for a fleet of armoured vehicles for the British Army. 
•Responsible for raising quotes &amp; negotiating contracts. Direct contact with customers, legal and finance.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
•Identified strategic opportunities, created: capture plans, risk registers and SWOT analysis to assist management decision making.
•Contributed to a £300M bid. Highlighted our performance, experience and where we add value. Successfully downselected for next round.

The client was developing a new type of hydrogen fuel celled car and required a good understanding of current and future composite manufacturing techniques to feed into his manufacturing strategy.

Using my previous composites experience I delivered a report providing the client with a clear understanding of current and emerging manufacturing techniques for high volume composite component production. The report included initial investment costs and throughput to assist in the development of a manufacturing strategy.
