We used to pay 100’s of DJ’s, every week for their performances. 👉 DJs would have to prepare paper printed timesheets. 👉 Get the General Managers wet signature on the timesheet at the end of the night. 👉 Mail the timesheet to our department. 👉 For a team member to process and file the physical document for payment at the end of the week. There were many places for the process to breakdown, and it did, on a regular basis. It left my team constantly juggling issues, feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. It made me realise that change is not just possible; it's essential! So, what did we do to fix it? We changed the processes, introduced a purpose-built IT software, improved communication all around. We automated the heck out of it! It was a hugely successful transformation! We saved 100’s of hours in time savings, the allocation of costs were consistent week to week and reduced mountains paperwork. That was nearly 20 years ago now.
