I’m the founder of Infosec.live, a global not for profit cyber security community and the host of our leadership focused events. If you have watched the show on YouTube, you’ll know we gain insights from security leaders LIVE every week! My 30+ years in business, using excellent communication has been the standout skill that has helped me build hundreds, if not thousands of meaningful business relationships. Cutting my teeth with direct sales at 16, and 20 years in Financial services building businesses and learning the power of live connections & relationships. My success, and more importantly my failures have shaped me. I no longer focus on the money, I focus on people. In the last couple of years, I have met with hundreds of CISOs, Vendors and industry leaders. In my efforts to help others transition and improve their communication and story telling skills , I built the Infosec.live community and so far have brought together over 6000 industry professionals and the community is growing each and every day. Following feedback from leadership we began streaming over YouTube in 2022, giving security leaders a global platform to speak on issues close to their hearts. Since launch, the live discussions, have reached over 200,000 views and gained 11,000 subscribers. With the success of the channel, and at the request of the audience, the CISO Experience was turned into a Podcast that is available at all the usual places. Two problems always seem to be raised. 1. Leaders are struggling to navigate the Vendor marketplace. With thousands of vendors, and tens of thousands of salespeople. The number of “15-minute chat” requests is a problem. 2. Leadership are fed up with being “pitched” at networking events. Many of them choose to avoid in-person events that were vendor heavy. That’s why we created events where security leaders can share experiences, knowledge and best practices in an environment free from the usual sales pitches. We have hosted 13 leadership events since launch in 2023 across the U.K. and U.S. and partnered with some of the industries leading vendors. With business being built on meaningful relationships, our online and in person events offer a unique opportunity for vendors and consultancies alike to make meaningful connections. Our events also help to fund the work we are doing in the community, providing free resources and training for our amazing members.
