Also extensive international experience including five years in Hong Kong during the 1990s and significant project related time spent in India (first stage of Delhi Metro in 2001), Papua New Guinea (several energy and development aid related projects), Ireland, Canada, and the Middle East. Outside work interests: Mostly intellectual pursuits nowadays, although I do maintain a reasonable level of general physical fitness through gym work, walking, and a mild obsession with very hot saunas followed by cold showers in the morning, which has been a part of my weekday routine for decades now. I am an avid reader, particularly on economics, geopolitics, and philosophy. I enjoy writing and debating on subjects that interest me and the arts more broadly as a spectator when I have the opportunity. I love Tik Toc as well (just kidding - I have a dislike for social media in its current form; its addictive attention sapping qualities, self-reinforcing newsfeed algorithms, and resulting malign influence on society - as I see it).
