Adobe

I design and develop backend and frontend solutions for the Adobe Business Platform.

In particular, I am currently working on two main projects:
- improving the scalability and correctness of distributed observability tools
- defining API standards and the API design-to-production workflow for the business platform

Previously, I have worked for 5 years on the Adobe Commerce Catalog, delivering both business- and engineering-led initiatives.
Catalog is at the core of the business platform and consists of high-volume (four or more 9s) runtime systems as well as not-runtime design/onboarding services.

Over the years, I have also:
- developed highly reusable web components for Adobe.com and other Adobe frontend solutions
- designed and built the backbone of the multi-region infrastructure for the Adobe pricing service
- contributed on improving the internal documentation platform

Computer Scientist

My contribution to Adobe consisted of:
- improving the relationship with the University of St Andrews
- transfering the knowledge I acquire during my PhD to the company and viceversa
- improving parts of their products on an occasional base

Software Engineer

I worked on improving the performance and maintainability of an internal multi-threaded high performance general networking library used by Adobe Creative Cloud and other products. 

I have also worked on improving part of the upload API used by Adobe mobile cloud services. This task included building a model for the current system and other possible implementations for assets uploading. An implementation and testing phase followed.

Finally, as part of the team, I was also involved in code reviews for other projects as well.

NOMAD - University of St Andrews, School of Chemistry

NOMAD is a controlled data management system for the Solution Phase NMR Spectroscopy technologies used by the Chemistry department at the University of St Andrews.

As the technical leader of the project, I have pushed the product forward at the point of having an alpha version of the system. I have also introduced SCRUM and a series of HACK-DAYS to speed up the project development. 

I have also improved the core-architecture by adding a whole set of new features regarding the user and experiment management side of NOMAD. I have improved the performance of the user and search portals significantly and applied a new nice-and-look UI/UX to the admin/user/search/accounting portals.

Lead Software Engineer

Worked on a high performance general networking library and developed a prototype for a new synching mechanism for Creative Cloud .

University of St Andrews

Interned as Research Assistant with the department of Computer Science in Human Computer Interaction.

My role consisted into cleaning, parsing and analysing data previously collected. I also helped with porting the code used in previous experiments from Matlab to Python.

Research Assistant

Intern as Research Assistant with the department of Computer Science and Psychology and member of the SACHI (University of St Andrews Computer Human Interaction research group).

Developed a Gaze-Contingent display and run qualitative experiments against standard displays.
