I originally trained as a classical musician, studying singing at the Royal College of Music and then the National Opera Studio. I worked for several years as a freelance performer before deciding it wasn't for me. A bit of soul-searching and I then retrained as an accountant, subsequently joining the Royal Opera House as Financial Controller for the Orchestra department there. So I stayed in music, just backstage now.... I left the ROH to set up my own tax practice, specialising in the needs of musicians and performers - my pals in other words! The need to offer tailored advice to musicians and other creative freelancers was what prompted the founding of My Tax Advisor. Our mission is to provide clear and understandable professional advice to all. I bring a unique insight into the needs of those working in the performance and entertainment industries. In particular, My Tax Advisor specialises in the complexities facing international performers and entertainers - residency issues, international tax compliance, cross border touring agreements and more. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and a fellow member of the Association of Accounting technicians (FMAAT). ​
