Each year, Techstars chooses over 500 early-stage companies to join one of their 3-month, mentorship-driven accelerators, investing $120K and providing hands-on mentorship and access to the Techstars network for life.

AML and KYC training were par for the course in my short time at Morgan Stanley. Today, I serve legal teams with the best technologies to connect them to stakeholders in and out of the business. They almost always work hand-in-hand with Compliance directors where applicable in regulated industries. Both these experiences and a lifetime of observing regulatory tides turn made this investment a no-brainer. NatureTrak is an early leader in the blossoming (pun intended) space of Cannabis Banking As-A-Service.

Why I Invested in the Reg CF Crowd SAFE:

1. Black Woman Founder. Black women are the biggest business owner demographic in America and will want to look the part.
2. Closest demo understanding of the need - wife owns several “nude colored” shoes that are outfit agnostic everywhere from casual coffee with friends to galas we attend.
3. Thoughtfully sustainable distribution/product model - no shoe gets dyed until an order is placed, reducing necessary inventory on hand drastically. This saves on necessary storage space and wasted inventory.
4. Plain tangential curiosity - trying out Republic’s UX/UI and wanted to give myself a good reason to explore the investment product, platform, and community as (1) an ascending product manager and (2) an advocate for more people left out of the private markets to explore paths to early investing.

I was hired to make oral care simple, affordable, and enjoyable as the foundation of a customer experience team for one of the most recognizable and fastest growing Direct-To-Consumer brands in the world, quip! When delivering fresh smiles to over 100 countries is business as usual, being empowered to build out training materials and process SOPs for optimal customer resolution is a must. Doing all this while transitioning our tech stack from Zendesk to Salesforce also meant seamless communication and real-time coordination throughout the highly adaptive startup to bring an experience our customers can brush their smiles twice a day about. :)

Pivotal in testing and user research as part of several product line launches and to modernize the dental care experience through the new quipcare service and solution. We spent days and nights on iOS Testflight so your dental office doesn’t have to. ;)

Presented and took feedback from every part of our venture-backed business from customers to C-Level executive team on everything from product to policy development.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leader is the flagship YALI program that empowers young people through academic coursework, leadership training, and networking. The Fellows that are selected to participate have established records of accomplishment in promoting innovation and positive change in their organizations, institutions, communities, and countries.

I developed and initiated cross-cultural partnership between this fellowship at the University of Iowa and non-profit orgs in Iowa, empowering social entrepreneurship and community service experiential learning.

Also mentored the fellows in technical enablement, relationship development and market penetration intra-continentally.
