I love to help businesses understand and develop strategies for social media. As an early adopter and avid social media user, it has been a natural transition for me to apply knowledge from my marketing career working with brands such as Travel Alberta, Sport Chek, and Samsung to helping businesses with their social media strategy.

As a passionate advocate for social media, I currently teach at two universities (the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University) and at Bow Valley College.

I am a consultant and have helped clients with their digital marketing and social media management and project management.  I am honoured to have worked with the Calgary Stampede, the Alberta Sport Council and Travel Columbia Valley and many others.

I have over 10 years’ experience in providing workshops and sessions at large-scale conferences dealing with issues and strategies related to social media. I enjoy public speaking and the opportunity to engage with an audience on topics including social media, digital parenting and productivity.

I am the author of a book for parents trying to navigate how to manage social media in a digital world and have presented at workshops and conferences across Canada.

Travel Alberta is the tourism marketing agency for the government of Alberta.

In my role as Manager, Social Media I am responsible to:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-channel Social Media strategy to promote all regions of the province.
- Lead global social media strategy and execution with the team, including overall brand presence, growth in engagement and audience; organic and paid content performance for Travel Alberta’s core consumer social media channels.
- Guide and manage in-market North American and International social media agencies ensuring KPIs are met and solid collaboration with Travel Alberta business units and tourism industry partners.
- Provide team leadership providing strategic and day-to-day coaching and direction for the Social Media Specialist. 
- Provide ongoing leadership with the tourism industry partners in Alberta and national tourism partners.
- Manage budget development and forecasting and making recommendations regarding fund allocations for social media globally including social media advertising.
- Review and manage the approval of project requests, purchase orders, contracts and oversee monthly and annual media and social media measurement.   
- Led influencer relationships for Instagram and Youtube visits to Alberta.

In this newly created role, I was responsible for creating an inventory of tourism experiences in Alberta.

I worked on the launch of Travel Alberta's "Remember to Breathe" brand project including the brand development and asset development of video and images.

As a Marketing Manager at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), I lead a team of creative and talented professionals to develop and execute marketing campaigns that attract and engage prospective students, alumni, and industry partners. I have over 20 years of experience in marketing communications, social media, and web content, working with some of the most recognized brands and organizations in Canada and beyond.

I am passionate about learning and teaching, and I hold a Master of Education degree with a focus on technology and learning at post-secondary institutions. I taught digital marketing and social media courses at the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University, sharing my knowledge and insights with adult learners and professionals. I am a certified Dare to Lead leader, and I strive to inspire my team and my students to embrace positive changes and innovative approaches in their work and lives.
