What you put out into the world eventually comes back to you. 💫

A man was selling 10 tamales for $10 in my local Safeway parking lot.
So I bought 20 tamales for $20 and gave one bag to the homeless man I saw driving in.

👉 For $20 and a few moments of my time, I was able to help 2 people.

I love the hustle of this man selling his tamales fresh in the parking lot - a true #Entrepreneur!

And I will always respect the bravery of those on the street asking for help and I will do what I can to make a small difference in their day.

I'm not sharing this to get praise, but because I think we should share more of our good deeds to inspire others.

I wish I had seen more examples of this growing up and more role models I could learn from.

Growing up, my parents did not care about such things, so I didn't know how to participate properly in serving others.

When I became an adult, I learned how to navigate giving to others in a way that had a real and immediate impact on making the world a better place.

❌ It is risky to #donate to charities because many are corrupt and simply used by corporations to get tax breaks and launder money. Charities are often created to stroke the egos of the CEO, board, and investors, using their charity as a mask to hide the evil they are doing.

❌ Giving money to a homeless person can result in them buying more drugs or alcohol, which keeps them in a cycle of suffering.

❌ I am personally sick and tired of meeting people and CEOs every day who fantasize about their company "changing the world" and becoming a "billionaire"… because THEN they will change the world. 🤡

❌ The last thing the world "needs" is another software, app, or hardware to change some niche industry that is already over-saturated in competing technologies. 🤦‍♀️

❌ We need to stop buying into this false ego-driven mentality.

✅ The fact is that we all have a choice to change the world EVERY SINGLE DAY.

✅ One act of loving #kindness towards a stranger is a powerful frequency of energy that immediately imprints into the Quantum field.

✅ The same goes for CEOs… they fail to realize that they have the opportunity to change the world by helping just ONE person that they hired to change their life. Instead, they abuse, use, and discard employees in hopes of attaining their empty end goal of changing the world with their needless software because the truth is, they only care about making themselves rich.

✅ These small acts of kindness have come back to me many times!

Just the other day I went to buy a sandwich at a local shop but realized I forgot my wallet at home in my other purse.

A kind lady behind me in line insisted that she pay for my lunch.

I am excited (and nervous) to officially #launch WakaGoods today on a public scale! 🥳

We beta 'soft' launched back in October and learned SO much in the last 6 months.

Here is what went wrong:

❌ One of our software programs for creating bundles stopped working the first week, so we had to start over with a new one.
❌ Our software that connected to our international suppliers didn’t send our orders when they came in, resulting in a 2-4 week delay in shipping on our first 4 orders. 😱

I was pretty stressed about the last one, so we did everything we could to improve the experience for our customers.

This is what we improved:

✅ Sent our customers an email update as soon as we were aware of a potential delay and kept them updated.
✅ Offered them a VIP discount code for their next purchase and sent 2 gifts along with their orders.
✅ Asked for feedback on what to do better next time and how to improve.

We were so happy that the above efforts pleased our customers and they wrote back with some amazing testimonials. Here is one of them:

"This bracelet is prettier than it looks in the photos! It's stylish, elegant and can dress up any outfit. Shipping took a little longer than expected, but their customer service is super responsive, and they even gifted me a few extra pieces! It was such a nice surprise. I'll be ordering from WakaGoods again!"

I also listened to your feedback during my beta launch, and I got many requests to add some Men's #fashion and #accessories.

Jessica McCarty's experience at a #NASA Earth meeting shines a light on a familiar struggle! 

Amidst a discussion on human drivers of fire, a male post-doc felt the need to interrupt. 

His assumption? 

That Jessica lacked understanding and needed to "read McCarty et al."

The twist? 🔄

Jessica IS "McCarty et al." 

With a calm reveal of her name tag, she silenced the man and spotlighted a systemic issue. 

This moment transcends a simple case of mistaken identity.  

It's a bold statement about women's place in #science and #academia.

As well as still nearly every other industry including business and entrepreneurship. 

I experienced this more times than I can count, along with nearly every female I know.  

Despite advancements, women still face challenges in being recognized and respected for their expertise.

Jessica's story is a powerful reminder to listen and value contributions equally. 

Before assuming superiority, remember, the expert you dismiss could very well be the voice you need to hear.
