Hey there! I’m a Children’s Media Researcher exploring the role of Characters as facilitators of learning experiences. Children’s exposure to fictional characters has extended beyond traditional media such as books, film, television, and games to AI-powered media. Under this “learning + characters” umbrella, my research goals are:
 1️⃣ Improving children’s specific learning outcomes through interactions with AI characters such as animated chatbots, intelligent tutors, social robots, and smart speakers
 2️⃣ Empowering children’s creativity through character design workshops in makerspaces using hands-on materials and digital fabrication tools
 3️⃣ Supporting joyful learning experiences at home through families’ Joint Media Engagement with characters I bring interdisciplinary skills and credentials: ✨DESIGN (BS Film, MFA Animation, Character Designer in the gaming industry) ✨RESEARCH (PhD in Education, Research on children’s media, maker activities, and child-AI interactions) ✨STRATEGY (8+ years of consultation with edtech founders & children’s media producers) ✨TEACHING (courses & guest lectures for masters and doctoral students, workshops for children & caregivers, mentorship for early career professionals)
