I’m a father and husband. A runner, ultramarathoner, and former competitive obstacle course race athlete. I have 10+ years of social media and marketing experience, 10+ years in the food service industry, and I’m currently leading my family’s business, Atomic Coffee Roasters.

Atomic is a specialty coffee roaster with two manufacturing facilities on Boston’s north shore— a roasting facility in Peabody where we roast and package coffee to order, and a cold brew facility in Danvers, where we brew, keg, or can some of the best cold brew on the market. Our mission is to spread positive energy and elevate coffee experiences. Atomic coffee can be found throughout New England in over 200 cafe and restaurant partners, over 500 grocery stores in New England including Stop n Shop, Shaw’s, Star Market, Big Y, select Whole Foods, and online at DrinkAtomic.com.

How many small roasters get to 100k orders?

This week, we received a pretty cool milestone trophy in the mail: 100,000 orders on Shopify.

In our first full year, we averaged six orders a day.

Today, it's about 120 orders per day—roughly half of which are subscriptions. This is all direct-to-consumer; we track wholesale separately.

Receiving this milestone made me pause and reflect on how far we've come over the last few years. Growth always feels normal in the moment, day to day or week to week, but feels pretty crazy looking back like this!

Thanks to Shopify for recognizing these moments and giving us the platform to make it possible!

What a fun night in Salem.

We had:

• Five Atomic team members competing

• An espresso bar courtesy of Synesso 
  
• Support & prizes from Minor Figures, Sucafina and Atomic Black Coffee Spirits 

• Vibes by DJ Chris Capozzi
  
• The perfect location, thanks to A&J King Bakery

And our head barista trainer, Jonathan Feliciano, took home the win! 🙌

It was especially cool to see the local coffee community show up, right in our backyard, during a fun time to be in Salem!

Last year, we received a last-minute corporate gifting inquiry for 615 bundles.

The order was for a bag of coffee, a mug, a box of tea, and a note from the company.

Despite:

• Only having 100 mugs on hand
  
• The need to place a rush order of tea
  
• The challenge of shipping 600+ packages to individual addresses nationwide
  
We managed to turn this around in just one week and ship them the following Friday.
