Studying about pharmaceuticals in high school chemistry, in a chapter titled, "Chemistry in Everyday Life", deeply fascinated me towards drug discovery and development. Since then, developing accessible therapeutic interventions to fulfil unmet healthcare needs has been a north star to my career aspirations. To fulfill my career goal of delivering rational healthcare to society, I pursued a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri in India, to train as a registered pharmacist. Working as a pharmacist and encountering diseases for which no impactful scientific research or affordable therapeutic interventions existed, convinced me to pursue further graduate studies and scientific research in biomedical sciences. As an M.Sc. Biomedical Sciences graduate seeking opportunities in pharmacology, drug discovery biology, drug regulatory affairs, and cGMP manufacturing, I am excited to connect with fellow enthusiastic professionals in these fields. Through my previous education and research, I have developed a strong background in the pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, including experience in wet lab research, data and statistical analysis, and scientific writing. I am highly motivated to undertake challenging projects in these aforementioned research areas, through which I can make a positive impact to the health and lives of people around the world. Previously, I have also worked in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in quality assurance (in -process, and documentation, across dosage forms), manufacturing (solid orals and oral liquid dosage forms), and packaging (primary: blister, strip, bottle and secondary packaging) shop floor operations for 4.5 years, across India. During this period, I gained valuable expertise in cGMP operations, documentation, data integrity, validation, regulatory audits, and workplace skills. I am confident my eclectic mix of educational background, research expertise, soft skills, and career aspirations make me a suitable candidate for roles across domains in the pharmaceutical industry and academia.
