I have been working in Corporate Services for 20 years, had a successful exit from P&P, and re-started Monx, a company that is based on two core principles: 

1. Accountants will be superstars 
2. Clients are the center of our work universe.

If you asked me what my professional dream is, I would reply, "to defy the traditional perception of accountants and show the world that we are cool, financially literate, smart, and fun to hang out with. Accounting is the new black and Monx will be the army of dynamite, stylish accountants around the globe. We're accountants in black hoodies!"

I want to change the world so that one day when you ask a child what their dream job is, they'll respond "An accountant!"

Besides Monx, I am a big fan of Value Investment and a follower of Ben Graham's theories. In my spare time, I am a serial investor, endurance athlete, fitness maniac, and bio-hacker. Apparently, I am famous as a runner (according to Google) but other famous runners don't know about my work.

The rest of my free time is filled with my two amazing kids and a wonderful wife. I take care of them, but sometimes I think it's actually them who take care of me.

It took me a long time to do it. But I did and enjoyed every second.

Yes, I went back to racing after a long break of 6 years (The last one was the IRONMAN World Championship 70.3). Ironman Cebu this time was the ultimate test of endurance and it taught me a few great lessons.

This race was particularly special to me because my kids were there, they were my “excuse to join again”. There were so many overwhelming emotions, a combination of fear, excitement, pain, and profound joy. Some highlights here:

🌟 Triumph at 42: Defied age expectations by clinching one of the fastest overall run times. The fastest AG and 6th including pro. 

🌟 Reconfirmation from my learnings on Longevity: the importance of long-term good habits, ie. training, nutrition, plant-based diet, circadian rhythm, and living in a community.

🌟 Parenthood. I have never, ever bonded so much with my kids. 

Ironman Cebu was more than just a race for me. I wish I can express to my fellow friends athletes and ex-pro how liberating it is to go back to races and finding new meanings.

It was a comeback, a restart, and ultimately the confirmation that the journey of life is worth traveling.
