Many stories start with a champion-in-the-making finding themselves facing the proverbial solid brick wall. Yet it’s not just what they do about it, it’s how they handle & see it too. I was born profoundly deaf, and was, by my own choice, the first deaf child to attend mainstream school in Yorkshire. Several challenges, qualifications and PA roles later, I moved into the Financial Services, followed by Bereavement Support & Life Mentoring Services. After a car accident, I found myself permanently disabled & bed-bound. One Christmas, on creating decorations for a local charity, I discovered, through accidental art rehabilitation, a way to quite literally move forward. One bauble led to another, & using empathic understanding from my own life & wishing to show how anyone's life perspective could be changed, the visual storytelling garland business, Stellar Garlands, was formed.
