I never dreamed that I would enjoy programming and building algorithms. As a pharmacist, I was comfortable with my daily retail position. After a while, I felt that I needed more challenges, something that made me spark while also making a difference. This came when I first took python as a means to get involved in machine learning and eventually artificial intelligence. This was also a way for me to help in developing the area of pharmacogenomics as it is something that is growing with so many genes that we have yet to study. AI could be a way to help in bridging this gap of unknown. As I started taking programming courses (SQL, C#, scikit learn, deep learning) and partaking in some programming projects in Kaggle; I started to love what I was doing. Not only was this very new to me, but I was enjoying and even dreaming about what to learn next or what projects to build. I was enjoying debugging and working on the homework assignments I was given in my courses. My specialties include learning new skills and programming languages, while maintaining a pharmacist position on the side and raising two young and very active kids. I like to get confronted with challenges that help me grow as a person, helps me improve and hone my skills, as well as making a difference in people’s lives.
