Venture Ready is the Arizona Commerce Authority’s business mentor program that connects Arizona talent with its incredibly rich resources. The program is part of a collaborative effort to create winning companies while retaining and developing entrepreneurial talent in the state of Arizona.

Venture Ready begins by partnering a company with an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR). The EIR will coach the company through five panels that focus on intake, marketing, finance, dry run and final/graduation. In each, an entrepreneur pitches its business model to a team of CEOs and professional experts and will receive specific points of feedback that identify gaps and strategic opportunities.

The ASU Mentor Network supports student, faculty, and community entrepreneurs. Ventures may be at a wide range of developmental stages, from ideation through commercialization. The mission of the network is to catalyze the entrepreneurial success of founders by connecting them with Entrepreneurship Experts who hold office hours and Venture Mentors who provide regular, ongoing support to founders and their teams.   

Entrepreneurs have a lot of big ideas. They also have a lot of creativity and the grit needed to navigate the rough waters of starting a new business. But sometimes, as in many areas of our lives, we don’t know what we don’t know. That is why our Mentors are such an important part of the startup process. Mentors provide the experience, guidance, and support that can help founders keep moving their idea forward, mitigating risks and leveraging opportunities.

Venture Mentors act as both an expert on the process of moving a venture forward, as well as a guide to encourage entrepreneurs to plug into all the resources available to them at ASU.

As a 2x founder and a 2nd generation entrepreneur, I know the power of entrepreneurship to change lives and communities, so I leverage over $5B (BV) of investment banking transactions and my ride (with an exit!) on the high tech start-up roller coaster in Europe to help other entrepreneurs succeed.

I've had the honor of educating and mentoring hundreds of early stage entrepreneurs at various accelerators, serving as a judge at many startup competitions and speaking about venture capital, angel investment, and alternative sources of financing to audiences across the globe.
