Control Systems Project Engineer with Thermo Systems LLC. Stephen leads and supports teams in design, testing, startup and commissioning phases of multiple projects. Currently, the technical lead engineer overseeing PLC programming, SCADA development and implementation, OT/IT equipment installation, configuration and deployment. Projects are focused in the automation sectors of power generation, mission critical and life sciences. Stephen uses his ability to leverage knowledge and experience to help Thermo Systems overcome challenges and deliver successful projects on time and under budget to ensure client success. Also has experience as a penetration tester and information security specialist. These platforms emulate real world environments, simulating up to date security vulnerabilities and misconfigurations. Stephen’s skills and his experience in industrial automation ensures that security best practices are in place for critical infrastructure. Additionally, Stephen served as a member of the Nevada National Guard where he was a Network and Communication Engineer for his unit. There, he ensured reliable network availability and communications for his unit, both while stationed at home and in field operation settings. He also served in the capacity of point of contact to coordinate communications between multiple units while in joint operations during state active duty missions. A graduate from UNLV, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Unmanned Aerial Systems. Stephen is also an active member of the International Society of Automation (ISA), holding a ISA-CFS (Cybersecurity Fundamental Specialist) certification.
