While helping to maintain a safe workplace, supervising 2 Lead Hands, and between 14 to 18 hourly Associates and a Clerical Associate in the Outbound section of a fast paced Toronto retail Distribution Center.
Key Accomplishments: 
•	Responsible for ensuring all Associates work safely at all times.  
•	Personally responsible for (Sorter – Average 14K items per day) 60 shipping doors are loaded on time for all central & eastern 57 retail locations, temperature controlled moves, plus 3 western Distribution Centers and  local e-commerce Distribution Center.
•	Personally responsible that the dispatcher of the shunting contractor moves out loaded trailers and empty fleet and contract carrier trailers exactly as needed. (Approximately 40 moves per day).
•	Working with HBC Transportation Corporate that the loading schedules are updated and implemented in a timely fashion and rolled out to the Lead Hands.

Outbound Supervisor

Welded Tube of Canada

Responsible for 48 employees. Maintaining a safe workplace using a hands-on and by-example management approach. Managed a 100K SF Distribution Center/Warehouse with $18M USD (5K SKU’s) of finished goods while adhering to FIFO, 5S & Lean. Organized inventory of milled and processed steel for applications ranging from automotive components, oil and gas drilling equipment to bridge and construction industries.
Key Accomplishments: 
•	Walk the talk – walk the floor approach to safety with 100% compliance mandate across the board regarding PPE, near miss reporting and 5S / housekeeping inside & outside
•	Introduced ‘Weekend Warrior’ shifts to facilitate an extra 1200 U.S. tons of processed steel per weekend, resulting in a 30% increase in flow through efficiency within three months of implementation
•	Reduced absenteeism by 5% gaining 38 working hours per week back from unionized employees by encouraging and supporting the Supervisors on the fair administration of the collective bargaining agreement and maintaining a personal presence among the employees
•	Managed 1 Production Coordinator, 1 Traffic Coordinator / 14 Shunt Drivers, 3 Supervisors, and 40 hourly Steelworkers. Responsibility included staff performance, productivity, and quality of service, addressing any emerging concerns
•	Responsible for 14 shunt drivers - 16 shunt tractors with 40 flatbeds (24/7) transferring steel between 2 locally owned mills and the Distribution Centre
•	Responsible for offloading, FIFO transfer and shipping 12K – 15K U.S. tons of steel per week
•	Updated, in collaboration with all stakeholders, updating processes, procedures, and work instructions for all unionized employees; clarifying job duties and streamlining employee on-boarding
•	Collected, reviewed, and analyzed operational data, identifying issues, and implementing solutions with contingencies. (5S & Kaizen)
•	Navigated and implemented strategies to maintain customer satisfaction and sales in light of U.S tariffs on steel

Warehousing & Distribution Manager

Manitowoc Foodservice

Maintaining a safe workplace. Personally responsible for 10K SF using 5S / housekeeping, Kaizen & lean; inside a 100K SF MFG facility. Managed the logistics and warehousing demands of serialized finished goods and parts including just-in-time manufacturing, merge in transit, and warehousing. Collaborated with internal/corporate stakeholders, Customer Service, Manufacturing, multinational culinary businesses and hotel and restaurant chains on all continents to deliver finished goods. Managing an annual freight budget in excess of USD 3M
Key Accomplishments:
•	Responsible for dept monthly Safety Scorecard of +95% with over 6 years zero lost time
•	Shipping OTIF 100% factory - 92% MIT with an average value of USD 14M (2016-2017) per month consisting of 75% JIT/MIT and 25% warehoused corporate ‘quick ship program’ goods. 100% accurate ASN receiving supporting production, kits/parts and warehousing
•	Increased warehousing operations in 2013 by 25% (16/5.5) by providing ongoing training, developing a harmonious workplace, implementing process improvements, and encouraging employee engagement and interaction. (16K – 18K SKU’s by 2015/16)
•	Wrote and implemented a comprehensive freight handling best practices policy reducing motor freight damage by USD180K or 85% 2011 -2017; manual is now used at most factories across North America
•	Implemented and managed a USD 5M reverse logistics program including warranty issues, repair, and disposition
•	Managed 2 Coordinators and 18 unionized material handlers ensuring cohesive team performance and dynamics

Organized and managed all Canada, U.S., and international logistics, reverse logistics, and distribution functions. Sourced, negotiated, reviewed, and audited all LTL, FTL, Intermodal, air as well as small package couriers, third-party logistics partners, and customs brokerages. Managed one assistant plus a team of seven warehouse staff. 
Key Accomplishments:
•	Developed and implemented a fully functioning and integrated Logistics and Shipping Department within six months; exceeding project deadlines and completing project well under budget. 
•	Improved efficiency and reduced net freight cost by 28% in the first year by identifying operational inefficiencies, implementing immediate solutions, and effectively allocating resources.  
•	Directed LTL, FTL, air, and intermodal shipments including all small package activity.

Trained warehouse employees to regularly perform accurate system-wide cycle counts of approximately 1000 stock keeping units.
