After 20 years as an award-winning teacher leader, I'm making an impact beyond the school walls. Education is society's strongest weapon against injustice, and democracy's greatest asset. I'm looking for roles advocating sound, equitable educational policies at all levels through institutional development, effective communication, and leadership.

Teaching has equipped me with a range of skills: public speaking, content creation, collaboration, fostering stakeholder partnerships, making and evaluating policy, and the patience of a saint.

As a member of the core leadership team, I oversee pedagogical functionality and the classroom user experience for Litmus Learn, a rapidly growing startup bringing blended learning to schools in the US and beyond. 

In my role, I leverage my 20 years of classroom teaching, union leadership, and educational policy advocacy to communicate the benefits of Litmus Learn to teachers, parents, and school districts in a way that maximizes students success through teacher efficiency.

In our current phase of growth, I'm actively cultivating relationships with school administrators and teachers, along with research partners, nonprofit and venture enterprises working in the education sector to build and scale Litmus in a way that captures momentum, facilitates growth, and onboards users with minimal friction.

I oversee Litmus Learn's messaging, marketing, and multichannel outreach efforts across all platforms

Litmus Learn is a fully-integrated blended learning platform designed to empower teachers and engage students. Teachers create content on a range of features to enhance instructional practice through seamless integration of technology: interactive video, simulations, social documents, digital flashcards, customizable playable games, and a number of other tools. 

Iterations are underway to integrate generative technology, deep analysis of data as actionable evidence to continually improve learning outcomes, and to maximize teacher efficiency. We help teachers do their jobs better, communicate their students’ learning outcomes more accurately, and facilitate a virtuous cycle of data collection, analysis, and improvement.

❝ America needs more plumbers, and Gen Z is answering the call.

Long beset by a labor crunch, the skilled trades are newly appealing to the youngest cohort of American workers, many of whom are choosing to leave the college path. Rising pay and new technologies in fields from welding to machine tooling are giving trade professions a face-lift, helping them shed the image of being dirty, low-end work. 


Growing skepticism about the return on a college education, the cost of which has soared in recent decades, is adding to their shine. 


Enrollment in vocational training programs is surging as overall enrollment in community colleges and four-year institutions has fallen. 


The number of students enrolled in vocational-focused community colleges rose 16% last year to its highest level since the National Student Clearinghouse began tracking such data in 2018. 


The ranks of students studying construction trades rose 23% during that time, while those in programs covering HVAC and vehicle maintenance and repair increased 7%. 

“It’s a really smart route for kids who want to find something and aren’t gung ho on going to college,” says Tanner Burgess, 20, who graduated from a nine-month welding program last fall. ❞
