Question - What makes me tick and gets me in flow ?? Answer - Creating and expanding veterinary practices and teams and watching them grow. Creating a practice culture where vets and nurses can thrive clinically and non-clinically, allowing them to do the thing that they love — treating pets ! The veterinary world can be full of indecision and negativity, where you can work in a vet practice with frustrating targets that you cant easily control: targets for high profit (aimed to maximise dividends), the number of injections to be given, or the number of consultations you have to do in a day. But running a practice like this massively fails to understand the WHY, or sense of purpose of our vet, nurse, ACA and reception teams. Driving veterinary teams to perform in this way contributes to poor staff retention and job satisfaction, causing our awesome people to just ..... leave. And that's why I am doing it differently ! Having set up and run four practices, I understand the reasons why we chose to work in this profession, and what gets us in flow on a day to day basis - saving animal's lives, and growing as people whether that be clinically, and learning to castrate your first dog, or non-clinically and mastering communication by social media.
