We all need a little more "RAD" in our life.  

I'm not alluding to an acronym here... I'm harkening back to some 90's slang because it's just most fitting, here. 

I walked into Emmett's room last night to tell him goodnight, and this little lighted number was dancing in the corner.  

He had built a mount out of scrap cedar to showcase an incredible sword he built a week earlier, but had just mounted some $9 Amazon running LED's on it to make it "sing".  😎 

It's not getting sold.  
It's unlikely to be used in any promotional material...

He did it just because he wanted to, and because it's flippin' rad.  

I couldn't agree more.  

These days, there's a lot of depressing data out there.  A LOT of questionable decisions being made, a world of hurt for those not prepared for it, and many people feeling like they're simply getting left behind in life.  

... I'm trying to offset that. 

But especially in times like these, I sure appreciate ANYONE who takes the extra steps just to make something cool.  ... because they can.  

The world needs more art... more beauty... more things that just make us smile.

I haven't disappeared... I promise!

Sorry folks... this is what the last couple weeks have felt like.  

I was able to take a full week off to "shreddy" some mountain bike and downhill trails in Bentonville, AR with my wife and kids... I'll share proof of that shortly. 

And as any finance pros know, early-April is not a good time to get behind, so created for myself quite the busy-spell when I got back. 

But looking forward to getting back to normal on LI, and changing the world one connection at a time.  

You people rock.  Sorry for the delinquencies in my responses.  

What you see when you check that "sweet selfie" you think you just took. (Never me...  I'm talking about y'all).

Or what you hear when you have to play back a recording of yourself.

This is my dog Echo, who is otherwise a very handsome English Lab.  He gets compliments all the time.  We feed him a raw-food diet of beef, turkey, and vegetables, which has grown him into a 110-lb walking ball of muscle and doom.  He's a force to be reckoned with. 

... just like we all would like to be. 

But we can all be guilty of being disappointed by the way we "present" to the world when looking through a self-critical lens.  

Don't do that to yourself.  Our unique skills, traits, and querks are what allow us to fill a gap that no one else could fill.  

... awkwardness and all.

Alternate Headline:  Fundamentals eventually win out.

Three weeks ago, I wrote a post (linked below) detailing my love for a long-forgotten "Barbaric Relic" of investing... Silver.  Despite being terribly disappointed in the performance of this investment option (and yes, it's more than just a "Store of Value" at this point), I stuck out my neck to potentially highlight my own ineptitude once again.

"Isn't that a finance guy who talks about following geopolitical movement touting an archaic investment vehicle that's been void of gains for YEARS?!?!"

... why yes it is.  Thank you sir... may I have another?

But I was convinced that the fundamentals of my theory gave it legs. 

Not 48 hours later, Silver (and Gold) started a breakout pattern and have been the "talk of the town" (or, the "cat's pajama's") in the investment world since.  

Now while I'd love to take a public victory lap and be lauded with praise and adulation from an adoring public, I'll respectfully just blend my current jubilation with years of disappointment.  

And rather remind myself (and you, if you've been able to stick around this long) that sticking to our core convictions amid a flurry of FOMO-inducing headlines will eventually win out.  Just as gravity is an un-bending wench, so is sound logic and reason the prudent harbor to drop our anchor in. 

Research your position, do your homework, and do NOT become lured by the Siren-call of "get-rich-quick" investing.

NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) HIAS is distributing flyers telling border-crossers to "... be sure to vote for President Biden".  

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is a former board member of this NGO.  

While flooding the country with undocumented immigrants over the last several years, they're actively (and ILLEGALLY) encouraging them to vote in US elections.  AND TELLING THEM WHOM TO VOTE FOR!

Active undermining of the pending election.  What more proof does anyone need?
