My current focus is providing a range of fractional services to tech B2B companies, mostly cloud partners who operate in cloud marketplaces. I It took me 25 years to get on this path, starting as a graduate mainframe systems programmer in a Scottish bank, through the birth of the internet ("it's just a fad"!), then virtualization, then converged infrastructure, hyperconvergence, and then cloud over ten years ago. I've done just about every role from graduate to CTO/COO. I'm a voracious learner and while I might be an old dog I'm always learning new tricks. I love cross-functional activities, such as technical sales, or technical go-to-market. I'm passionate about sitting on the side of the customer and empathising with them. Winning together is everything.
