Teacher and editor with a passion for community journalism and digital storytelling. As Lumina Foundation's editorial director, I help lead our print and digital publishing efforts, and assist our thought leaders in broadening their influence through persuasive writing, blogs, video, speeches and social media. My background includes service as a journalism professor at Ball State University and as a consultant for media groups on newsroom leadership and digital content. In a stint as general manager of Ball State's public broadcasting facilities, I oversaw a merger of operations, addressing financial sustainability and adding substantial new local programming. With The Associated Press, I helped lead teams in New York City, Nashville and Indianapolis, producing high-value content with great precision and winning the organization's National Enterprise Award for a major project involving campaign finance.
