Working for Gleeds in the UKDT Knowledge Transfer Team and supporting the UKDT Commercial Team.
Providing subject matter expertise in Contract (NEC) and Cost Management and there to ensure that the legacy of the UKDT Joint Venture will be training the local population to leave behind a competent and capable
workforce.

Provides support and guidance for Candidates undertaking the APC QS Pathway.

Been an APC Assessor since 2000 and in recent years became an APC Chair of Assessors

APC Mentor and APC Assessor

Stuart was Chair of the RICS Measurement Initiative.

The aim was to produce a suite of measurement rules for quantifying building work during the life of a building - that is when it is being designed (Part 1), procured (Part 2) or operated and maintained (Part 3).

The New Rules of Measurement (NRM) have been driven by the purchase side of the industry who require greater clarity and understanding of the costs associated with both building and operating their buildings.

Part 1 (Rules for Estimating and Cost Planning for Building Works) was re-launched on 24 April 2012

Part 2 (Rules for Works Procurement) was launched on 24 April 2012

Part 3 (Rules for Estimating and Cost Planning for Maintenance Work) was launched in 2014

Gleeds

Stuart brought 30 years of practical surveying experience to his new role as Head of Training.

His primary role was to continue to develop and drive the training of all of Gleeds Business Units both in the UK and Overseas.

In addition there was an increasing external training element to the role. To date Stuart has provided external training to some of Gleeds Clients, Contractors and other surveying firms.

Member of the London Committee as well as being one of its representatives on the National JO from 2000-2003 (now Matrics). Since leaving he has actively been a member of the 1913 Wilderness Club.

Cross-professional organisation that developed networking and educational opportunities for young professionals in the Built Environment. Initially joined as the RICS representative and went on to be Treasurer and then Chair (1999)

Experienced Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record of delivering successful construction projects.

Has worked closely with many different types of Client helping them to develop successful delivery strategies and helping them to resolve project issues.
Skilled in Quantity Surveying, JCT, NEC and technical standards development. 

Sector experience includes Education, Residential, Commercial and Retail. Experience also includes successful implementation of Value Engineering initiatives and Risk Management.

Strong track record in talent development providing support to both Trainees/Apprentices and their Employers.  
Currently working as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Peru Reconstruction Plan as part of the UKDT PMO Team. 
Also an RICS APC Mentor and APC Chair of Assessors.
