Oystercatchers, founded by Suki Thompson and Peter Cowie was bought by Centaur Media in October 2016. Thompson joined the Centaur Executive Committee in 1 October 2016.

In January 2018 I was appointed to a new role across Centaur to lead growth relationships with clients across all brands and portfolios. In this role I lead teams across Centaur to create and develop new solutions for clients to enable them to deliver their business objectives. Our ambition at Centaur is to advise, inform and connect. Advise on business and marketing performance, models, capabilities and partnerships, inform using data, content and insight and connect to communities through media and events. We deliver this globally and vertically across Marketing, Legal and Financial sectors. 

I continue to serve as the Chair Oystercatchers/Xeim specialising in accelerating marketing performance and delivering ROI. 

Our consulting and pitch services are still market leading. We utilise extensive content and support from Centaur’s iconic publishing brands such as; Marketing Week, Creative Review, Design Week, Celebrity Intelligence, The Lawyer and leading industry events, including Festival of Marketing, Digital Therapy, Supercharged and training programmes including; Mini MBA and Digital Transformation.

One in three of us will get cancer.  Getting breast cancer in 2010 and a melanoma in 2014 was the toughest thing I have ever had to face.

Touraid - Tackling Child Poverty. The primary aim of TourAid is to create long term social and economic benefits for children and young adults from disadvantaged communities throughout the world by creating links between these communities and schools or clubs in the UK.

Suki was CEO and Co-Founder of award-winning, multi-million-pound marketing management consultant Oystercatchers. In October 2016, she sold Oystercatchers to Centaur – it proved an industry defining acquisition and created a new global offering.

Innovation is at the heart of Suki’s success. At Oystercatchers, she concentrated on reshaping the future of marketing, grounded in digital, to a new brand/agency model: from pitch to partnership, insisting that relationships of trust are future drivers of innovation and commercial success. Her vision grew traction and Oystercatchers now works with 80% of the FTSE 250 and leading global communications networks.  Revenue grew by 190% year on year since launch in 2008. The brand expanded into the USA and Asia.  The client portfolio includes , BA, McDonald’s, Sainsbury’s, Virgin and Post Office

Suki is a recognised industry influencer, leading debate across many platforms. The Oystercatchers Club attracts 250+ senior business leaders, and has become one of the UK’s most influential forums in the UK  where, among others, Nicola Mendelson [Facebook], Karen Blackett [MediaCom], Lord Moynihan, Justin King [Sainsbury’s], Jill McDonald [M&S], Tamara Ingram [JWT] and Elizabeth Fagan [Botts] join Suki on stage to debate impact issues: Transformation, Diversity, Leadership and digital transformation.

Marketing Society

As Chairman of The Marketing Society,  an exclusive network of 2,600 senior marketers,  I undertook 4 main projects during my 2 year tenure.  The changing role of the CEO, extensive research project to understand what skills the best CEO's in the UK hold, in association with Accenture. Seedcamp, bringing inspiring brands and the best of the new technology companies together. Young new members, a joint initiative with The Marketing Academy to support the best of the young talent in our industry, sponsored by JWT and the development of The Marketing Society in China and India.

I created, developed and owned specialist Gin company, Bunker Gin, way before it was trendy to drink Gin. A gin for golfers. Design and packaging created by Trevor Beattie and Bil Bungay. Gin distilled in London to a recipe given to me by my Uncle and Grandfather.
