Energy and Water Policy Advisor 

▪	Perform Conceptual Studies and Develop Basis of Design for oil development projects, flare recovery and energy efficiency project, and integrity related projects within Qarn Alam Cluster and across Oil North Directorate as whole. 
▪	Prepare Program Built yearly plan for Qarn Alam Cluster in terms of forecasts review, capacities check, projects proposals, CAPEX estimates, gas and water balance, flaring forecast and new technologies 
▪	Develop Oil North Directorate Flare Master Plan, and Deliver GHG Emissions and Energy Efficiency Report for Qarn Alam Cluster
▪	Act as a focal point for the North concept team to develop the OND Energy Management and Greenhouse Gas Strategy  
▪	Involved in strategic planning to achieve the company ambition goal of net zero emissions by 2050 
▪	CAE Corporate Planning 2020 Bronze Award, for Elevating the Energy Management Profile
▪	CAE Engineering Function Directorate 2019 Silver Award, under Simple Innovative Solutions for Complex Water Treatment Projects
▪	CAE North Directorate 2016 Gold Award, for the ONE projects savings (Rigorous Scope Challenge)

Concept Engineer

o Execute water and gas balance calculations on a corporate level
o Gather, monitor and report flare emissions for PDO clusters on monthly basis and create a dynamic flare map that takes emissions projections up to 2020
o Perform an economic analysis study of rotaflex pumps vs beam pumps considering the impacts of Capex , energy demand, Opex and availability
o Carry out a project to prototype a solution that would enable PDO to measure and track the thermal efficiencies of heaters and heat exchangers
o Create and analyze historical oil production trends for a number of wells to optimize the net oil flow with minimum water cut thus reducing power costs related to water handling

TECNALIA Research & Innovation

Title: Transition towards Low-Carbon Energy System for the Basque Country, Study of Scenarios for 2050

TECNALIA Research & Innovation is the first privately funded applied research centre in Spain and one of the leading such centres in Europe. A renowned technological agent in the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for the energy and environmental challenges of industry and society, TECNALIA addresses the complex challenges of energy supply chain and energy systems.

Contributing to these efforts, the project builds a model of the energy system in Basque Country, which is characterized by (1) high representation of industry; the most energy intensive sector (about 45% in the energy demand ) (2) the high consumption of fossil fuels (about 83% of Basque energy use in 2010).

These challenges (and others) along with the compliance with EU targets to reduce GHGs emissions, to promote renewables and implement measures for energy savings and efficient use of energy, are key drivers to simulate different policy-based scenarios to study and analyze the impact of these measures over different time frames.

The aim of this thesis is prepare energy scenarios for the Basque Country for 2050, taking into account different low-carbon pathways and integrating a life-cycle perspective which includes not only the impact during the use and operation phase of energy systems, but also the impacts during the other life cycle phases (manufacturing, installation, end of life).

Master Thesis Project

Petroleum Development of Oman

- Conduct problem identification and resolution at Harweel Main Production Station’s water treatment plant treating 770 m3 / day 
- Collect and analyze laboratory data to identify products which do not meet specifications ;then discuss with operators to verify data or change conditions to bring these products into on spec 
- Monitor equipment operations to ensure compliance with data sheets  
- Support operations and commissioning prior to station start-up , including system troubleshooting on equipments and giving changes proposals

Process Support Engineer

- Partnered with Drilling Contractor to complete on-site hands-on training in specific drilling roles
- Enrolled in Shell International Well Engineer’s Distance Learning Programme

Well Site Well Engineer

Occidental of Oman INC

- Ordered materials and installation for Oman’s second-largest independent oil producer
-  Scheduled tasks and helped develop plans to support facilities projects
- Completed international certification for Medic First Aid

Sultan holds a European Joint Masters in Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy ; focused in Sustainable Energy Technologies.
