Summer has an extensive background in real estate and escrow which includes law enforcement, regulatory, and private sector experience. Most recently, she worked for the Orange County District Attorney's Office (OCDA) as a Civilian Economic Crimes Investigator in the Real Estate Fraud Unit. Summer's real estate expertise and knowledge were heavily relied upon by Deputy District Attorneys and Investigators involved in the prosecution and investigation of real estate crimes. Prior to her employment with the OCDA, she was a Special Investigator at the California Bureau of Real Estate where she investigated complaints involving various violations of the Real Estate Law, ranging from licensing compliance to real estate fraud. Summer is extremely well versed in the California Real Estate Law and Commissioner's Regulations, and is knowledgeable about the California Escrow Law (as it relates to escrows) and California Civil Code (as it relates to real estate transactional issues, mortgages/foreclosure, and other real estate related activities). While employed at the Bureau, Summer was actively involved in several projects and initiatives. For example, she was appointed Co-Chair of the Real Estate Commissioner's Special Advisory Committee on Policy, Improvement, and Innovation, Law Enforcement Liaison of the L.A. "North" Enforcement Office, and Subject Matter Expert on the Bureau's internal panel which reviewed real estate broker/salesperson exam questions. Summer also wrote several published articles for the Bureau. Summer also worked in the escrow industry for almost five years; Summer was as an Escrow Officer for a broker escrow, and before that, an Escrow Assistant for an independent escrow firm.
