JICWEBS (Joint Industry Committee for Web Standards) is an industry-owned, not for profit organisation set up to drive and deliver standards in brand safety, ad fraud and viewability for the digital advertising industry.

My role involves the management of a subscriber base of 120 organisations - organisations involved in the digital ad trading in the UK (buy side, sell side and technology companies facilitating the process).

I am responsible for building long term, fruitful relationships with key stakeholders - sharing the importance of certification, encouraging involvement and advocacy, engaging with the broader teams to educate - providing targeted training sessions to increase awareness. The objective - to further the 'cause' - raising the standard of digital display advertising in the UK. And to ensure continued support and commitment (through the renewal of an annual subscription).

The project reported directly into the MD of ProFundCom - a specialist B2B digital marketing platform targeted to the investment and asset management industries. 

The scope of the project - to enhance existing customer relationships, and to identify new target audiences and digital partners through the development of a strategic digital marketing strategy.

As part of a global business development team my role is to source partners throughout the UK & Ireland to be a part of Microsoft's global relaunch of MSN and it's Bing desktop and mobile apps.

The role involves the identification of strategic partnerships in markets, the negotiation with each partner with a view to sourcing and delivering premium digital content across MSN globally. As is expected, this involves working to extremely tight deadlines collaborating with stakeholders spanning product, engineering, legal, financial, and supporting the successful delivery of each partner to a beta/live environment. 

Furthermore, it also involves ongoing partner management from initial implementation (finance, technical) through to post performance management (analytics, editorial).

Findanyfilm.com is a UK website for film fans who are looking to watch, buy, download, stream or rent legitimate film, TV and video.  The site is under stewardship of the Industry Trust for IP Awareness and plays an integral part in the Trust's copyright education campaigns.

The role encompassed the sourcing of partnerships in support of the principles of legitimate film consumption. The product was the presentation of comprehensive film meta data through a branded widget alongside specific editorial support carrying the message.

The business development manager role at Primedia Online is like a chocolate box filled with fabulous foil-wrapped fancies... 

It involves reviewing a truly legendary website in iafrica.com with the view to enhancing its presence through great content, search and ecommerce partnerships with local and international experts. 

Growing the content syndication services - the foundation of which is iafrica.com's team of journalists. The aim of the content unit is to provide local and global content generators and publishers in our premium network with an additional distribution channel for their content, as well as provide an all encompassing content solution for brands, agencies, sites and publishers (online and mobile).

Signing up digital publishers to the 365 Digital premium publisher network and providing them with a combination of services from the integration of a premium ad serving technology in ADTECH IQ, the utilisation of a highly skilled advertising operations team; to a highly targeted and experienced national sales team. 

A role that allows for the identification of opportunities across a diverse business. An exhilarating experience.

Virgin Media is the UK's leading entertainment and communications company offering broadband, TV, phone and mobile services.  It is the UK's largest broadband provider with more than 3.8 million broadband customers.  

The role entailed the commercial management of the lifestyle content channels on VirginMedia.com (shopping, money, jobs, dating, games, motoring, and travel). It involved: 

•Preparing commercial strategy in collaboration with internal stakeholders (content, advertising sales team, TV content team) to deliver contract road maps, forecasted revenues and budget 
•Commercial analysis and review of existing content and commercial partnerships,  
•Research, request for proposal processes, and selection of new partnerships;  
•Business modelling customised to the type of content partner (text and video) and  commercial partner (Cost per Click, Cost per Acquisition, Minimum Revenue Guarantees and combinations)  
•Contract negotiation, integration and delivery of a partners 
•Ongoing optimisation and analysis to increase revenues and cut costs 
 
Account managed more than 30 accounts with commercial partners such as Kelkoo, eBay, Moneysupermarket, Credit Expert, Uswitch, DatingDirect.com, Snapfish, Careerbuilder and content partners such New Car Net, the Press Association, MyMovies.

The role included the technical integration, ongoing optimisation and management of all commercial partnerships.  Key responsibilities included: 

•Managing the integration, promotion and optimisation of partners on the Virgin Media website 
•Optimisation of partner revenues through ongoing weekly analysis of revenues and reporting this information to senior management and Finance 
•Preparing and distributing key commercial information to internal stakeholders 
•Strategic account management of key partners 
•Preparing and distributing monthly partner communications to ensure transparency and information sharing 	
•Delivering an annual partner event for 60 key partners

The role included the management of the advertising sales house responsible for the Virgin Media website.  The purpose of the role was to maximise sales revenues through creative consultation and collaborative relationships.  Key responsibilities included:
	
•Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver higher yielding concepts to market 	
•Identifying opportunities which would help drive additional revenues and obtaining buy in from internal stakeholders  
•Managing the delivery of an editorial calendar which would be used in sales material 	
•Preparing comprehensive sponsorship briefs with supporting data for the sales house to take to market 	
•Project manage the integration of new ad serving technology on the site

Initially started out as Sales manager -  which entailed the audit of the site and its advertising and sponsorship opportunities, identification of current and more profitable advertising & sponsorship opportunities; preparation of all sales support material, and building relationships within all major advertising agencies.

Due to the business downsizing and advertising being outsourced, I was selected to take on the role of Internet Marketing and direct Sales Manager - entailed managin remaining advertising and other revenues (through outsourced means - i.e. sales house, affiliate networks),  management of online and email marketing strategies with the aim of increasing the ISP customer database; setup and management of retention strategies to reduce churn; cross selling and upselling contract and pay as you go mobile phones, contract and pre paid telephony; the setup of a customer loyalty scheme; and overseeing all customer communication involving the ISP services.

Extensive experience in partner development and management - building relationships and growing revenue across a portfolio of leading e-commerce partners; managing relationships with premium publishers, and optimising a premium publisher network. 

Experience negotiating complex, unprecedented contracts at c-suite level - acquiring content (image, video, text) from premium publishers in the UK & Ireland for global, multi platform delivery.
