VR/AR Association (VRARA)

The Energy Committee serves as a resource to promote the application of VR/AR technology in confronting the challenges posed by the energy transition. The committee will enable the sharing of best practices and information on VR/AR related applications in the energy industry as well as curate industry relevant case studies. Furthermore, the committee will, as necessary, shape and recommend best practices for the scaling of VR/AR applications across the energy industry.

We are experiencing a new period of enlightenment! Learning related systems are the focus of intense entrepreneurial investment and for good reason. Traditional approaches to training, and the underlying architecture supporting them are rapidly evolving. In Schlumberger, we are always learning, and not just in classrooms but through our daily experiences. Experiential learning is redefining our approach! 

• identify components and implement the underlying ecosystem of applications that are used to enhance performance.

Learning Technology Manager

Accomplishments: I'm proud to work with a fabulous team of capable, adaptable and dedicated people.  We saw the peak of recruiting activity in 2014, starting over 1300 new hires.  In the year since, we've documented, measured and streamlined our processes, allowing us to rapidly adapt to a changing business climate and unpredictable challenges. 
 
• Active ownership of the recruiting administration process, including compliance and onboarding.
• Liaising with global recruiting, training and operations managers to ensure smooth transition of new recruits to work locations and technical schools.  
• Managing a training team and center with a 12 course catalogue and a peak of 9500 training days a year, including 30 new hire orientation courses.

North America Recruiting Administration & OFS Training Center Manager

Accomplishments: This was a fascinating role, a massive learning curve and extremely rewarding as an HR experience! I developed rapid proficiency on employment laws in Canada, and built rapport and respect within the HR and Legal teams quickly.  I developed robust mitigation tools for a process that was previously a high risk for errors. 


• Responsible for advising Human Resource and Operations Managers on employment law in Canada.
• Researched Employment Standards, related legislation and relevant case law.
• Monitored best practices pertaining to Human Resources exposure through all stages of the employment relationship, including recruiting, managing and terminating.

Human Resources Compliance Analyst - Canada

Accomplishments: So many recruits asked me, how did you get here from there!?  A unique path isn't unusual in SLB, where you are frequently asked to consider new and very different experiences building a "latticework" career. Service companies are not always an obvious choice for geoscientists, and marketing our opportunities was a challenge I enjoyed on campus. I developed a unique recruiting "user manual" for the organization, and delivered outstanding results through consistently exceeding recruiting targets.

• Responsible for sourcing candidates in a wide range of disciplines, including Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering and Information Technology.
• Effectively assessed candidate motivation and interests, which leads to successful placements.
• Offered transition assistance for new employees, and ensured proactive support and engagement.
• Fostered communication and collaboration from internal and external stakeholders.

Petrotechnical Recruiter

Accomplishments:  A period of unparalleled change!  I managed four teams and various multi-faceted projects encompassing the archival and storage of a seismic data library of over 3.5 million items.  During this tenure, we completed several stages of modernization to evolve from physical tape movement to active data management.  An additional aspect of modernization was to ensure a disaster recoverable library and business continuity planning.  

• Proof of concept and full production of a disk-to-disk data archive process, which transitioned and modernized the company’s data management model from physical tape movement to real time data movement. 
• Proof of concept and full production of a data access process, which provided rapid turnaround of input data for data processing, cutting weeks off prior timelines.
• Prepared and planned for move out of a 130,000 sq ft data management facility.
• Managed environmentally sensitive destruction of millions of data tapes, seismic film and observer logs.
• Researched one of the largest transcription data remaster projects of its type in the oilfield industry.

My team and I researched and addressed integration issues from merged heritage seismic libraries (including the Western Geophysical, HGS, GSI and Geco Prakla seismic data libraries).

Researched and suggested corrections to inventory/database records for seismic data and associated support.
