Freelance Experience Designer | Lead Designer

I led all design efforts on Holoplot's first sound system management and metering system, destined to power the unique sound system at the Madison Square Garden Sphere in Las Vegas.

Researched, defined and prototyped sound management system, designed our open source DSP software, co-created design strategy, coached designers on design system building, setup design all-hands and weekly critiques as part of my team leadership responsibilities.

The MSG Sphere's grand opening has been a resounding success, bringing the best sound quality in a live setup the world has ever seen. Just check online what U2 or Paul McCartney thought about the sphere and you'll see the impact our crazy software has had on making sure the audience's experience remained absolutely perfect from start to finish.

Lead Product Designer | Holoplot

Researched, mapped and implement flow and features to help buyers replace Excel with in-house tool for collection creation and order placement. Excel would regularly crash with such big fashion article databases. Moreover, buyers lost too much time manually inputing data instead of focusing on the quality of the assortment they would purchase.

Principal Product Designer | Zalando Retail Core

Beat quarterly objectives for conversion rate optimization in Fintech team by 50%. Leveraging RICE scoring system and service design blueprint in order to decreased contacts to customer success team by double digits as part of a task force, effectively saving 1.000.000€+ a year.

Principal Product Designer | GetYourGuide

Lead the creative vision and the standard of output across the design team (8 people), through mentoring, coaching and problem solving.

Looking at a new funding series, I lead the team through a research effort leveraging mindset and JTBD methodologies. Based on that, I crafted a new design vision to fuel a whole redesign with design sprints, a fresh design system and a double digits increase in conversion rate thanks to our incremental plan and testing strategy.

Goodpatch Inc.

Goodpatch Berlin is the European studio of the most successful design agency in Japan. Historically focused on UI, my UX focused studio lead and I transformed our Berlin boutique into a solid practice of design strategy and UX design.

My clients allowed me to share my time between Berlin, Paris and Tokyo, with a mix of remote short projects and longer embedded periods.

I personally pitched in on design systems, branding, mobile applications, GUIs (automotive, software), user research and service design, in both senior and lead positions.

I also had the chance to be the lead designer/product owner our in-house XR team, working on design strategy, UX concepts and 3D modelling (Blender & C4D) for Drive Athena, a VR prototyping tool for autonomous vehicles and future mobility. The team consisted of in-house designers and Unity developers, and an external 3D modelling and development studio, Invisible Room. There I defined and planned the implementation of a prototyping engine built on a node-based system (inspired from 3D softwares but also from Dungeon&Dragon scenario creation systems), and led the product closer to photorealism for increased believability. We also explored how to reuse this technology for entertainment/education, especially for Airlines.

Service Design & UX Lead

Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi

As part of my client work at Goodpatch, I worked as a UX & Service design lead at Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi where I led the teams working on the Renault Zoe (EV) companion apps and on a new electric vehicle fleet management software (3 designers per team). We also owned the general UX roadmap for all RNM Alliance efforts, including innovation and concept projects, along with the head of design. As an individual contributor, I updated all the Electric Vehicles third-party apps in their 2019 infotainment system, working hand-in-hand to test and iterate with the infotainment system designers from their automotive design studio. There I advocated for the adoption of VR prototyping for infotainment system, shortening the iteration cycles from 1 month to 1 week.

User Experience Lead

Zalando SE

Started as a UX-focused product designer, in a small team  working on one of Zalando's innovation ventures, MOVMNT. We were championing applications on the mobile market to insure that Zalando would remain at the top of the e-commerce innovation game, with design sprints, lean UX, prototyping and design fiction. The product was a case study of a Design Sprint gone wrong, despite a sound business case to back it up. We slowly pivoted its branding and core mechanics in order to make it market fit. Zalando's main platform eventually absorbed our app and retained many of our features and design decisions, including product pages and checkout. There I passed Analytics certifications as our work was heavily grounded in quantitative data decision making.

I also participated to ethnographic user research and next-gen editorial projects for Zalando's main platform, focusing on design thinking and service design.

We fiddled with AR, user research management and service design in Zalando's hack projects.

Senior Product Designer

Omio

First UX-focused product designer in a small team of UI/art director designers. I saw the company grow from 30 to 130 employees and raise 70M€.

My proudest achievement there was helping GoEuro become a mobile-first platform by defining, designing and releasing the first mobile web version of our product, which followed our first real efforts in user research, generating personas and enforcing design thinking methodologies within the company. Years after, I'm also proud that my efforts into creating the first illustrations for Goeuro and my branding explorations were the first steps that led towards Goeuro's (now Omio) major redesign and rebranding of late 2018.

There I also worked on marketing products, shaping the marketing CMS by designing the first landing pages and an early design system, making organic traffic the main source of visitors before paid channels.

At that time, Sketch and Zeplin were barely emerging, but careful education and evangelism overcame resistances and turned those into our core tools, greatly improving our performance. We took developers, marketing, sales and C-level managers to user-tests and design thinking workshops, promoting user-centered design, cross functional teams and collaboration, which greatly eased the company into a user-centered mindset. 

Eventually, I instructed designers on prototyping interactions with after effects, and was the official trainer for product manager trainees on A/B testing strategies and tools.

Tirendo Holding GmbH

A rewarding 6 months journey that finished abruptly when the company was bought by a competitor and dismantled. My mission was UX for Growth, working closely with the marketing department, from analysis to the solution space:

• Audit of the website to map user flows, customer journeys, service blueprints and uncovering conversion optimization opportunities.

• Designing and coding landing pages.

• Building a component library and training the marketing team to use it to create on-demand pages for SEO. With this came along a training to what a good UX is and how your user experience metrics matter to Google.

• A very thorough introduction to SEO and digital marketing. Linking, semantic markup, analysis (Sistrix, Onpage, Strucr, Ahrefs...), creating strong and original content, reporting, monitoring IT and marketing innovation that are relevant for SEO.

Helped engineer friends with their young product studio while recovering from a sport injury, before being able to move abroad.

• Product management: roadmap planning, user stories and functional requirements.

Learnt with the brilliant Cyril Rimbaud about being more of a doer and less of a talker:

• Prototyped a computer vision and IoT experience for connected appliances for Casino (Wholesale distribution).

• Designed digital marketing and advertising training for traditional ad agency partners.

• Assisted cofounder on building commercial proposals and pitches for various clients, including Orange (Telco).

• Created brand strategy and produced content for the Curiouser consultancy.

I chose to not seek employment as I chose to favor the tech industry work over the advertising industry. Design over Creative work. No regrets.

Creative Technologist (intern)

Hired for the summer in a joint venture between a political polling company and a university lab.

• Analysis of opinions and reputation on the social web, regarding the 2012 presidential elections in France.

• Creation of panels among blogs, Facebook and Twitter users.

• Buzz monitoring and image study for national medias.

We were the main source in Europe for data on DSK arrest and subsequent political turmoil, and were featured on all main news channels from France to the USA.
