CodeNation equips students in under-resourced schools with the fundamental coding skills and professional experiences that together create access to careers in technology. We bring our tuition-free program directly to schools, where classes are taught by software developers on a volunteer basis. Students apply their new coding skills in paid summer internships, where they work with role models in the field to gain the experience and confidence necessary to pursue careers in technology. Founded in 2012, we currently serve 900 students in 35 high schools in New York City. In 2017, CodeNation expanded to serve 3 high schools in the San Francisco Bay Area.

•  Executed interactive lesson plans that integrated technology and real-world examples to ensure students comprehend advanced web development curriculum 
•  Employed strategies to provide clear instructions and communicate complex information  
•  Evaluated 5 student projects and provided tailored feedback and recommendations to improve code quality
•  Taught 31 students by delivering lectures on advanced web development concepts and guiding students through a capstone project that involved building a full-stack web application from scratch

Girls Who Code HQ is a learning platform that provides resources and support at scale to facilitators and students in Girls Who Code afterschool programs. As a full stack developer I made improvements in the codebase by debugging and building new features. 

•  Architected and developed a middleware technology that enabled a new dashboard feature and global navigation view in mobile devices
•  Re-engineered message communication process for Loop API by utilizing custom handlers and message queues
•  Implemented functionality to site components (Typescript)
•  Developed schema and types using to access data from multiple such as Salesforce; improved data accuracy by 15% (GraphQL)

As a Interactive Tech Intern at Droga5 I assisted in building a portfolio site that displays banner ads created by the Interactive Tech Team. During the program I participated in a group project to present how brands can effectively engage consumers with messenger bot technology. In order to do this I did research on emerging technologies and communicated with colleagues. I also learned how to use digital design tools to create prototypes and expanded on my skills as a developer.

As an accounting intern at LDJ I processed weekly employee expense reports with over 300 transactions and reconciled bank statements using Quickbooks. I was also tasked with administering accounts receivables for various clients and took record of billable working hours. In order to examine over 500 documents on file since 2006 I communicated with the accounting team to organized financial records for tax purposes.

During my time there I managed Utilization Reports for the Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte and Greenville offices, while also partaking in group projects to recapitulate strategies for professional development.

I am a full-stack engineer. I build software that delivers an enjoyable and seamless user experience. Throughout my career, I have gained exposure to various aspects of the software delivery lifecycle, enabling me to understand how the software operates as a system. In addition, I have experience with multiple technologies, such as JavaScript, React, and Node.js, and I have worked in agile environments, collaborating with talented teams in product, design, and engineering.

My skill set also includes Ruby on Rails, Git, APIs, Gems, Sass, Underscore, JSON, jQuery, Bootstrap, SQLite, Test Driven Development, Redux, Flux, Express.js, RESTful APIs, MongoDB, Photoshop, Wireframing, MySQL, React Router, PHP, and Python.
