I am Founder and Director of AXL Consulting.

I partner with tech scale ups and larger companies to make their Talent Acquisition and HR orgs more efficient and effective at delivering business strategy. 

I have fifteen years of experience working with some of the world's best known companies, where I both created strategy and led delivery: I crafted strategic plans and roadmaps, led complex tech implementations and driven organisational change to improve processes, structures and streamline day-to-day operations.

I have worked with organisations in tech, retail, banking, insurance, B2B and UK national government. 

I started my career as a management consultant at KPMG UK and Gate One then took on internal roles spanning Customer Operations, People Operations and Talent Acquisition Operations in retail (Marks & Spencer) and tech (Uber and Atlassian).

Strategy development for core Go-To-Market function.

Managed the strategic change portfolio for the Customer Operations (scaled operations) for Atlassian's global SMB support operations business of 200,000 customers.

Explored using Live Chat for customer support with a small group of customers initially. Gathered data and insights to develop a future solution, evaluating its impact on processes, org structures, staffing, technology, and ways of working. 

Received business case approval and secured EUR20m to implement Live Chat worldwide for over 200,000 customers as a lever to drive more product growth and enhance support for existing products.

Principal Business Architect, Business Transformation

Founder of Atlassian's first ever padel club which I named 'TEAM Padel' - a play on the company stock ticker name ;-)  
 
Grew membership from 5 initially to 100+ members within six months.

Secured funding - a first for a company sports/social club - enabling the offering of weekly matches, training schemes and tournaments free of charge to club members.

Became the most popular social club for employees in the Netherlands based on number of total and active members.

Led the Strategy & Planning team of 14 across EMEA. 

Customer Operations Leadership Team member. 

Chief of Staff to the Head of EMEA Customer Operations (Director).

Defined and drove key strategic priorities, ad-hoc tactical operational activities and overall governance for EMEA Customer Ops (1500+ FTE), established and ran the portfolio management office and shaped the employee experience through recognition, culture and communications.
