I have a passion to provide resources and training to the local community through continued education and spiritual development. Helping others discover Christ to broaden their horizons and perspective is one way for a community to grow and thrive. After concentrating on Asian Studies during my undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, I developed a desire to share my experiences and teach others the importance of global skills, experiences, and cultural understanding. I mentored, educated, and facilitated American companies interested in developing business in Japan while working for a semi-governmental Japanese organization in Chicago called the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). At that time, I began my graduate work at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management with a focus on organizational development and corporate culture. Shortly after receiving my masters, I had the opportunity to live in Germany with my family for two and a half years. I learned first-hand the challenges and joys of adapting to a new culture and environment and expanded my horizons to include Europe while further deepening my relationship with and reliance on Jesus. Upon returning to the U.S., I worked with school boards in Illinois and Wisconsin on how to incorporate new programs in order to develop 21st century skills. At LTC, I continued to provide training and opportunities for staff and students who desire global skills required in today's workforce. In addition to these experiences, I believe in the importance of impacting the community through volunteer activities. As a founding member of NOURISH (a non-profit organization in Sheboygan), I provided leadership and structure as we entered unchartered waters of connecting volunteers with local farmers and chefs with the purpose of providing healthy meals and snacks at local shelters while educating the community on good nutrition. Because of my passion for improving our local community, I began working for the Kohler Foundation and then the Kohler Co. where I was able to be part of teams that focused on community grants, scholarships, art, and volunteerism. Finally, God led me to Love In the Name of Christ so that I can continue to build my relationship with Him and share my faith with others so that we can all thrive and glorify God.
