I've never looked back since then. 

Since then, I’ve written blogs, LinkedIn posts, product descriptions, and even edited ebooks for founders and agency owners in various industries. 

All while managing my dental clinic.

If you're learning something new, just to share with the world that you're learning something new, you're not learning. 
You're performing.

All that online talk of 'sharing life stories' and 'being real' often warps our sense of reality.

Yes. I'll be the first one to admit that I've given the above advice more often than I can count. 

But being real doesn't mean sharing a story every time you blink.

When you share things that've not come to pass yet, the online validation gives a sense of accomplishment, even before you've accomplished anything real. 

After that loud applause you get online? Forget doing the rest of the learning. 

Sometimes, it's okay to learn things

- not to share online, but to truly learn.
- to quench your curiosity, instead of quenching the thirst for validation.
- to make real progress as a person, instead of improving your impressions. 

The most successful aren't those who do things for the sake of a viral post, but those who do a lot behind the scenes than what they show online. 

Don't get me wrong. As a newbie, I've made the same mistake. It's easy to get swept up by the novelty of it all.

But, time and again, I've learned that no amount of fancy viral Life update posts would add any value to my life.

So, this is as much a reminder to you as it is to me-
Learn things for the sake of learning.
Not for the momentary online applause.

Life will be much simpler and exciting.

The day I wrote my first post online was the first time I felt like I was finally living.

Dramatic enough?
But it's true.

Up until the pandemic, I was living in a default mode. 
Living the way the world expected me to.
Walking a path society wanted me to.
Trying to please those countless faces, I won't remember a decade later.

But even if it doesn't feel like it, life has an expiry date.
The pandemic showed us that much.

And when everything you worked for the last 7 years gets snatched away in the blink of an eye, you realize how fragile everything is.

That's how I felt when my job place got shut down in March 2020.
The uncertainty killed me.
I lost every bit of meaning in life, and of course, the income too.

Thanks to LinkedIn, I found a new obsession.

But so many of us continue on the same path, no matter how grim the future looks.
So many of us keep living as if we've got a hundred lifetimes ahead. 

But we don't! 
There is ONE life! 

It's long enough to figure out your purpose and work towards it.
But it's also too short to keep walking on a path that drains you.

Believe me, once you know why you've been put on the planet, this same life feels like a gift.

By the standards of virality, I’ll be the last in a row. 

In my entire 3 years of writing online, I’ve gone viral about 5 times max. 

And not just on LinkedIn, but across 3 platforms. 

And yet,

- I’ve worked with clients across niches
- I’ve spoken on 2 podcasts
- I’ve bagged multiple brand sponsorships

And now I’m getting clients for my paid coaching. 

This isn’t luck.
This is knowing what to optimize for. 

I’ve, long ago, stopped optimizing posts for virality, and instead focused on being relevant to my target audience. 

So, if you’re a newbie who’re obsessing over your reach and impressions, this is a reminder. 

Visibility is only useful if the right people are seeing you. 

Stop being in every room. Pick the ones your potential client/ customer lives in, and write for them.

Numbers haven’t been so deceiving before.

2 weeks ago, I got a client for my new offer. 


The interesting part?

I hardly had to convince her to buy, even though the price was the highest I ever charged for a consultation. 

My emails did all the trust-building for the last year. 

The only thing I did, was to reach out to my subscribers personally and remind them about the offer. 

That’s it. 

The lesson?

It’s a long game!

I’m writing emails to my subscribers for the last 18 months, before I started getting paid consultation clients this year. 

On the way, I launched multiple offers or products that failed. 

But my emails kept doing their work. 

Building trust. 

If yo’re entering this game thinking it’s the easiest way to make insane amount of money, 

Think again. 

It’ll test you like nothing else. 
But if you can get past the hard part, there’s no reward more precious!

PS- What’s that one thing that has helped you monetize?

The biggest misconception most side hustlers/writers have is that they have limited time for their side hustle. But it's hardly the truth.

I've lost count of the times I've rejected a gig just because I thought I wouldn't have enough time to complete it.

The truth was, I had enough time, but no system.
The more I systematized my work, the more I was left with spare time!

A system makes repetition easier.
It not only saves time, but also a lot of your brain space!

Again, a system doesn't have to be something complex. Instead it should
- Be sustainable
- Be simple
- Drive desired results

Today, my simple systems help me
- Write in the fixed hours
- Edit faster
- Be consistent
- Be useful and relevant

A system isn't just a fancy word for experts.
It is a necessary step.

Once you start your online journey, systemizing your work is the next obvious step.

PS- What's that one system that helps you write better and often?

Last week, I downloaded Instagram to learn new dance choreographies, and I ended up being triggered and anxious.

 I wanted to choose some awesome choreographies for the bride, some cousins, and myself for a family wedding.

In my experience, Instagram is the best place for that.

But by the end of the week, I was badly triggered, and my mental peace was all over the place.

In a week, I came across videos about
- An influencer student rebelling against a reputed college for corruption.
- A reporter rebelling in my hometown against the outrageous cutting down of 1800+ trees for a religious event.
- A lady cricketer’s shaadi news is getting turned into a full-blown scandal

And many more such chaotic snippets.

Keeping the right and wrong aside, what this world is turning into is scary.

Almost every news item adds fuel to the fire.
Almost everyone wants to shout out their opinion about everything.
Almost everyone wants to be a rebel and seek attention for matters not connected to them.

This isn’t ‘awareness.’
This is the poorest way of seeking attention for some virality.

Also, no platform is responsible for this. It’s us. The consumers.

The only solution I see to protect ourselves from this chaos?
Protect your Information diet.

Yes. Watch or read the news, but choose better sources than triggering reels and videos.

Life will be so much simpler and calming.

I finally reached 20k followers, for the second time.

It’s been at least 2 years since I wrote an intro post.
So here’s another-

Hi. I’m Tanvee. A dentist, a writer, and now a budding writing coach.

I started as a ghostwriter back in late 2020 and have written for multiple clients across niches. Today, I have a small dental clinic of my own in Mumbai, and write and coach on the side.

I loved every minute that I spent writing, but the best part was the way it transformed me as a person. If not for writing, today’s version of Tanvee wouldn’t have existed.

Here are some weird facts about me as a person and a writer-

✨ I’m a dance fanatic, and the only time I download Instagram and use it diligently nowadays is to learn new choreographies.

✨ Words like skincare and haircare didn’t exist in my dictionary up until I moved to Mumbai, where sweating became a default state.

✨ I’m extremely introverted when it comes to expressing my feelings. I channel them through my writing.

✨ I’m a chronic overthinker, and most often, it’s a massive effort to be productive.

✨ I don’t usually talk about my income online because I detest the notion of judging someone’s success or lack thereof based on their paycheck.

This post might be a cheesy one for some, but hey, there are no rules to how cheesy you can be, right?

A Sunday reminder- Some things aren't in your control, for good reason. 

Bliss is in uncertainty. 
Learn to let go!

If a stranger took over your profile for a day and posted in your name, would your reader notice?

If you said no, that’s where you need effort.

My solution?

The unique trio!

- Your story
- Your personality
- Your values.

Combine these three in your writing and create a non-replicable online identity.

Your brand is an asset in 2025. 
Don’t ignore it.

Both these messages are from the people I had a call with (free/paid) at some point.

Both these people have been on my email list for almost a year.

And yet we have never had a direct conversation until a few months ago, when I started reaching out to my regular audience to build a new program.

The more I talk to my readers, the more I realize how subtle the impact often is.

You don't necessarily see it daily in terms of likes or impressions.

But it's working its magic silently, behind the curtains.
It reveals itself when you nurture that relationship for long enough.

The catch?
You may need to write for years before you see such an impact. 
I started getting such messages after almost 3 years of writing without any reward.

In a world where virality is the new obsession, the wiser ones will always optimize for real impact. 

It's up to you what you decide to optimize for.
