Steve “Spike” Wong, Jan McCutcheon. San José: PushPen Press, 2013. 19-21. Print. — As of December 2023, I’ve proofed or edited over seventy full-length books. I’ve also proofed countless covers, graphics, and blurbs. Although my recent roles have been copyediting and proofreading, I’ve also delved into line editing and more substantial (developmental/structural) editing for a handful of clients. I value integrity, transparency, and accountability. I’m intuitive and open-minded. After working in healthcare for more than a decade, I was eager (desperate) to shift into something new. I had always loved writing, so I returned to college to earn an English degree. After that, I dabbled in a smorgasbord of related (and unrelated) careers, including professional writing, editing, teaching, and taking dogs on playdates. I worked at a printing company for a few years, and now I’m a freelance editor, proofreader, and musician. I live in a 1920s mill house on a slanted acre adjacent to the woods, with a black cat who catches mice but doesn't kill them, a white cat who does kill mice, and a husband who'd deserve an award for husbandry if husbandry meant what it sounded like. I haven't shared much of my actual writing (yet), but I’ve shared some old journal entries. Check ‘em out if you’d like: https://mailchi.mp/9be39bb4bcf6/catch-up-on-previous-entries
