For as long as I can remember, I’ve been an innately curious person. I was the kid that (likely) annoyed my parents and teachers by always asking 'why'. To this day I'm still asking questions about the things around me and searching for an answer when there's something that I don't know. If there’s a word in a book I’m unfamiliar with, I need the definition. When there’s a city that I’ve never heard of, I need to know where it is. Someone expresses frustration with a system or process, I need to know why. Imagine my excitement when I learned that there was an actual job for people like me! I found UX Research over 5 years ago and haven’t looked back. I'm passionate about understanding what drives human behavior and how we can evolve technology to better serve the people who use it. For the last 2 years, I've been a Researcher supporting all of Chili Piper's product teams and standing up the UX Research function. That includes being an advocate and educator for UX research throughout the organization, constantly evolving and documenting our processes, conducting end-to-end research, managing vendors, and providing my expertise in our user population to a variety of conversations and contexts. Without a copywriter on staff, I even get to dabble in UX writing. I'd love to connect and chat more if you have questions on how to enter the field.
