🐣 When I was 15 years old and choosing which high school to go to, the department of Chinese language just opened at one nearby school. My mom said I should apply, and I was like: “LOL, MOM! It’s Chinese!”. But she said, “Apply, you’ll go to China next year.” 🥳 Of course, I thought that was impossible, but I applied either way. Long story short, I got in and indeed went to China next year to participate in a global competition. 💖 Now, my Chinese skills are fairly rusty. But the most important thing I learned from that experience was to trust myself (and my mom!), know that everything is possible when you work hard and believe I am worthy of extraordinary things. When I think back, every major thing I wanted, I got it (through hard work and genuine relationships). ⭐ ✔️ Study abroad for free? – I got a scholarship from the government of Turkey to study in Istanbul. 🎓 ✔️ Befriend people from different cultures? – Now my dear friends are scattered to many interesting places around the world. 🌍 ✔️ Great job at an international corporation right after graduation? – I started working exactly two months and two days after my grad ceremony. 🏢 ⏭️ My next wish? Hmm, seeing more of the world sounds amazing! 🛫 🤔 What do I do in the meantime? I work diligently, show up for my team, serve our customers, take on new hobbies and, become a sponge. A SPONGE? 🧽 Yes! A sponge that soaks in all the knowledge and valuable experience along my journey. I love to grow and develop so that I can help people thrive together with me.
