I am the founding Director and Educator of VegVan Community Farm CIC, a permaculture farm in Northwest Leicestershire engaging the community and children in permaculture ethics of earth care, people care and fair shares and a Cultural Development Specialist of Breaking Barriers, a consulting company recognising the importance of understanding of human emotional states, relationship, commitment, and sustainability in the world of business. I like to positively influence others, encouraging autonomy and am keenly aware that understanding emotional values and behaviours has taken the lead in my life as Development and Implementation Specialist, Cultural Development Specialist and Permaculture Educator, specialising in teaching children how to grow vegetables. These attributes provide the talent for motivating others to successfully enhance their own personal and professional capabilities; an essential for those who are committed to continuous professional development. It also aligns well with enabling community to flourish using permaculture as a lens and framework to view and approach life through. I present my communication skills with ease and use positive language which has been a keystone to my success. Added to which I am personally driven, giving strength to move forward and take up challenges, such as my involvement with volunteer groups on our farm, incorporating a CIC with environmental and social benefits, at charity events and community projects, and includes personal development at the Landmark Education Forum. When I asked my grandfather to write something for me this is what he came up with: ‘Altogether she is seen as a woman with great ability, integrity and loyalty which creates a huge incentive for the future success and development of Breaking Barriers and VegVan Community Farm CIC.’
