I am the Marketing & Research Coordinator for Shepherds Hill Academy, a CARF accredited, Georgia licensed outdoor therapeutic program & accredited Jr. & Sr. High School where we help kids who are dealing with behavioral and mental health difficulties. Shepherds Hill Academy is a loving, Christian therapeutic program with a focus on family, group and individual therapy as well as person-to-person mentoring and spiritual and biblical counsel. The program intentionally uses the outdoors and primitive living as an alternative to conventional treatment environments, removing modern distractions, and simplifying choices. Each student at Shepherds Hill Academy (www.shepherdshillacademy.org) is given the opportunity to unplug, learn survival techniques, teamwork and valuable back-to-basics life lessons in nature, as well as improving their mental well-being, furthering their education, career planning and gaining biblical knowledge. Students learn to look to God for life direction, accept responsibility for personal decisions, address individual and family issues, and become invested in their own personal and academic growth.
