Freelance UX/UI Designer currently gaining experience researching, building, or designing platforms and design assets for clients looking to achieve user accessibility. Lead at a Distribution Center in Lithonia Springs. My experience comes from years of adapting and adjusting to challenges perceived as failure. Raised by a Marine, from an early age, I knew nothing but to stay resilient and never give up. I pride myself in being able to think creatively, improvise, and multi-task; I believe this skills have helped me in many industries, in many job titles, and above all, relating to people. Over a significant amount of time in the workforce, I have experienced several different variations of problem solving in different roles, none more important than another. As a worker in the field of hospitality, I acquired and refined the skills of multi-tasking, customer satisfaction, as well as time management. As a customer service manager, I adapted my skill in problem solving by empathizing with the customer and any issue in which they brought forth, focusing on an overall satisfactory experience. Not focusing on a quick fix, but active listening to identify a solution that would help all parties involve understand alleviate the underlying issue that led to the complaint. As a retail manager, I learned asking the right questions lead to understanding the goals of the customers. I also practiced active listening and communication to effectively cater to shareholders needs and goals. Understanding not only customer aspirations, but shareholders' goals allowed me to think outside of the box and successfully go above and beyond. Through all of this experience, it wasn't until recently I found the industry which the best compliments all of my skills; User Experience Design. Thus, I attended and graduated from the Merit America bootcamp which certified me in UX/UI design. Continuing my learning with mentors and other classes, I dived into learning website Accessibility and even currently, Web Development via Udemy courses. Currently, I work as a WH lead, problem solving and leading a team to serve customers in retail by day and by night, I am continuing my UX learning to become a better problem solver. I showcase my learning and my upskilling in the featured section. My goal is to continue problem solving, utilizing the skills I have acquired and the skills I will acquire. Learning never stops and resilience is never giving in. There will always be problems to solve and shareholders to keep happy. I intend to be better every single day.
