I am a contract UX/UI Designer currently gaining experience building websites to solve user problems. I excel in drafting intuitive solutions that captivate not only the problem I am trying to solve, but also problems I find doing research. I create seamless user flows that translate value from my clients to their users. I utilize design thinking to ensure my designs are accessible and will retain value. I also employ my design skills as a leader, collaborator, and problem solver in my current position as WH lead. Utilizing these skills as well as skills earned over time in industries like hospitality, customer service, and retail has made me into a unique blend of a resourceful, resilient, multi-tasking teammate. I believe in the power of team, the beauty of asking the right question, and iteration until the right answer could be found. I started my career as a server and bartender and learned how to get to the root of the customer to provide the best experience. That industry taught me the how to compile context clues to provide the best experiences for repeat business. It gave me the skills of agile thinking, and planning ahead to be successful. No matter how much was on my plate, consolidating the steps needed helps to take care of multiple problems at once. The next industry I worked in was Customer Service. Here I learned how businesses acumen drives customer experience. The industry is set up to serve the customer’s needs. Achieving the goal of customer satisfaction fulfills business goals and create happy owners and stakeholders. Happy owners and stakeholders lead to more confidence in your decisions. Then I got to retail. This is where my agile thinking served me the second most of my life. Retail and customer service experience goes hand in hand with prioritizing responsibility. One could have a job to do, but then are faced with another problem lacking context. The best solutions come from active listening. I have always treasured the beauty of happy user experiences. Through using my multitude of transferable skills, refusal to give up and commitment to continuous learning, I believe, will help me become a great designer because I make sure to put the user needs first. I realize that I will never know it all, so I continue to learn to understand more. I aim to be the valuable teammate that will advocate for all methods of inquiry to completely understand the problem, collaborate and communicate with all involved and win as a team. That’s who I am. The value that keeps a team strong, the piece most don't know they need until they do.
