City Travel Review 

I worked as part of a team to produce a travel guide for Berlin aimed at young people which is now published online. I had to research, visit and review locations in the city that would be of interest to the intended target audience. All reviews had to be produced within tight deadlines and written in an appropriate style.

I was also a member of the editing team on the project which meant that I was accountable for ensuring that written content within the guide was stylistically consistent and grammatically correct.

Providing excellent customer service at all times in this role was always my first and foremost priority.  I achieved this by treating all customers with courtesy and friendliness in addition to always taking the time to learn how I could cater to their individual needs and give them a pleasant experience at the restaurant. 

With regard to supporting the business and my collegues, I would ensure that I kept on top of my workload and if I had completed every task that was required of me then I would help fellow floor, kitchen or bar staff if required. I also ensured I was a good ambassador for the brand and tried my best to up-sell products such as specials, drinks and desserts.

For this role I worked in a retirement home where it was my responsibility to clean twenty two bedrooms and communal areas during each shift. In addition to undertaking practical tasks such as vacuuming, changing beds and cleaning bathrooms under tight time constraints I also ensured that I communicated with residents and fellow colleagues in a friendly and respectful manner.
