I’m the founder at Spira and we engineer algae for sustainable, healthier and cost effective industry applications. Artificial food dye contains petroleum and known carcinogens yet is still used in mass scale food and beverage manufacturing. Our products provide an innovative solutions to this problem by using algae as a natural food dye which along with the added health and environmental benefits can help companies save on material costs. I graduated Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering where I actually lived off algae and learnt about the many benefits of this incredible plant! After University I spent five years consulting in product design and business strategy before starting Spira. I’m a Kairos Fellow, a Seasteading Ambassador, a member of the TFF NextGen Council and sit on the Virginia Governor’s Council for Youth Entrepreneurship.
