Passionate about the power of online learning to provide access to quality higher education and to connect people globally, I have recently established my own freelance digital academic consultancy, The Brave, through which I am engaged in a variety of digital education projects that speak to my values as an experienced educator, with over 13 years' experience designing, authoring, delivering and managing online learning experiences. I have recently moved from a combined role at Nottingham Trent University, within Nottingham Business School. Primarily, as the School's Digital Learning Manager and secondly as portfolio lead for the School's Online MBA programmes. I am also an experienced lecturer of 20 years in Higher Education in Leadership, Management and Personal Development, with specialism in Development Theory and Destination Planning, Sustainable Development and Responsible Leadership, Development Ethics, Political Economy of Development and Crisis Management. I have particular research interests in the Social Impacts of Tourism, Tourism and Development Ethics, Tourist Behaviour and Cultural attitudes to Sustainability and continue to pursue future research on Wellbeing within Tourism, Ethics of Tourism Development, Leadership Ethics, and Micro-adventure. My PhD concerned the influence of Political Economy and Interpretations of Sustainability upon the Post Disaster Redevelopment of Phi Phi Don Island, Thailand.
