Vice President Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

Banner Health

Senior leader over recruitment, Registry, Banner Travel, New Nurse Experience (NNE), Onboarding, Center for Healthcare Careers (student programs to include Interns), for one of the largest nonprofit health care systems in the country.  My team supports the entire enterprise of over 40,000 employees across six states, 28 acute-care hospitals, Health Network, Academic Division, Medical Group, long-term care centers and an array of other services including Banner Physical Therapy, Banner Urgent Care, Banner Imaging, Homecare & Hospice, Banner Pharmacy, Outpatient Surgery Centers, Telehealth, Laboratories, Behavioral Health, Banner Staffing Services Registry and Banner Travel. 

Expert level knowledge and accountable for planning, organizing and managing system-wide recruitment plans, projects and professionals. Continually assess workforce needs at all system levels and provide innovative recommendations to attract hires for the organizations hard-to-fill vacancies while accomplishing organizational goals. Engage, research and understand local, regional and national labor market trends, integrate ideas, listen and collect suggestions while developing corresponding sourcing and recruitment solutions to drive down volumes. 

Collaborate closely to build and execute diverse recruitment marketing strategies for all recruitment divisions at Banner considering unique specialties, regional and enterprise challenges. Hiring events, fairs, industry activities, campus recruitment, marketing & sourcing campaigns through targeted mixed media platforms. Focused hiring blitzes to include onboarding hires for Registry, New Grads, and high volume in a remote environment.  

Strong utilization and understanding of data analytics to tell the entire recruitment story. Ability to decipher data, create reports, and communicate by data visualization for complex recruitment and workforce trends. Scorecards, auditing tools, and training resources to support metrics and deliver top results.

Senior Director, Talent Acquisition and Recruitment Operations

What began as a stretch assignment, turned into my becoming the recruitment SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the Enterprise and Talent Acquisition of all merger and acquisitions between 2014 - 2021. This work was completed in tandem with my primary assignment.

Successfully supported over 18 mergers & acquisitions during this timeframe. Varied sizes from 10 team members in smaller medical practices to over 9,000 employees in the Academic & UAHN division acquisition. 

Navigated the recruitment, onboarding/preboarding, student affiliations, aspects of the conversions of Applicant Tracking System (ATS), internal transfer process & exceptions, creative primary source verification developments, Career Transition Program (CTP) collaborations, one of the original co-creators of 'Banner HR Days' concept for Banner Health, creator of the standardized recruitment process for the HR Playbook. 

Primary trainer and responsible for recruitment process training to all new stakeholders, Leadership, HR Business Partners, & Recruitment teams. Mentor, trainer & communicator to current Banner Health Team Members on exception processes for acquisition & mergers. Introductions, Mentor, and Recruitment Buddy to new recruitment team members to ensure success and education of the Banner processes and understanding the complexities of the Banner Health Network.

Team Lead, Mergers & Acquisitions, Talent Acquisition

Lead top performing recruitment team, managing the recruiting efforts across 3 Divisions, 7 Service Lines, Health Plan, and Medical Group for both Arizona and Academic Regions at Banner Health supporting 40,000 employees. Supporting our Academic Division, Homecare & Hospice, Behavioral Health Hospital, Care Transition Division, Banner Pharmacy, Banner Medical Group & Banner University Medical Group, Banner Health Network & Health Plan, University Physicians Health Network and Casa Grande Medical Center.

Responsible for the recruitment of leadership, clinical (Life Sciences, Ancillary and Nursing), and administrative positions ranging from entry level employees, RN’s, Mid-Level Providers and Director level positions.  Service Line Recruiter: Pharmacy, Therapy (Physical, Speech, Occupational), WIS/NICU/PICU/Peds 

Accomplishments: 
	'New Grad 100' Event, June 2013 & June 2014.  Our amazing recruitment team successfully exceeded our new graduate RN hiring goals each year. I was awarded the opportunity to plan, organize and ultimately lead this exciting event for Banner Health. It began as an opportunity to support, and then I ended up leading the events. 
	Influenced change while we centralized and standardized recruitment process. Collaborated with Leaders and hiring teams to identify qualified and professional applicants to fill their open vacancies. Creative strategic planner for future growth and needs. 
	Team Trainer, Mentor & Recruiter Buddy. Responsible for training newly hired and promoted Recruiters to our Talent Acquisition Team. Trained 16 new Recruiters, all successful in the role. Some Recruiters promoted to leadership roles within our team, as well as outside of the organization.
